Ok just received more switches so tomorrow can try again. Should have bought more as it was on sale but I needed one Gang instead of two. But two gang can use one of them as a wireless switch to control other things. Hopefully just that particular switch causing the trips or maybe a weak elcb 🤞 Just doesn’t makes sense as there is nothing special about the backup circuit. So I have some time to be spared just now to test out the Sonoff POW, I decided to test it on my ventilation fan. Luckily after the testing, I am still alive and here is the picture:
The power consumption measured by Sonoff POW is as follow:
From the measurement obtained, 17W versus from the spec 34.4W.

From the measurement obtained, 17W versus from the spec 34.4W. The indicated power rating on the fan probably not the motor electrical power usage but mechanical shaft power rating. I'm not sure if the Sonoff pow is measuring just real power only or both real and reactive power. This post has been edited by Zot: Jan 18 2018, 09:19 AM

ozak Zot weikee okay must summon all the big sifus this is really weird. 1. proceed the install the newly arrived switches 2. put in just Live red wire and L1 to to Red wired lamp = okay didnt trip 3. put in L2 to Yellow wired lamp = trips The other day I put in Yellow side on its own, it didnt trip Original Switch - 2 Gang Switch. One Red Live One Yellow Live (different circuits) Aqara Switch - has only 1 input for Live so I can only use either Red or Yellow Red goes to a backup service in case of no electricity Red ELCB tripping. What should I try now? This post has been edited by idoblu: Jan 18 2018, 11:15 AM

What should I try now? Yellow wire you try both? 1 should be from the DB, 1 to the Lamp.. or if use yellow live, instead of red how? live yellow.. L1 to yellow lamp.. test 1st.. then replace L1 with red lamp.. test.. if ok try connect both to L1 and L2.

What should I try now? I think I understand liau. The yellow wire is from another phase. You cannot use yellow phase join to red phase. It will trip. Red live have to go back to red wire. And so do blue and yellow.

Or to have an external switch with a box outside my regular wall switches - fugly lor This post has been edited by idoblu: Jan 18 2018, 11:30 AM

I thought the color was some lazy contractor using leftover wire of whatever color

Of course wires are separated by color coding in DB, right?

Big and bulky switches look scary. Once you start doing and get use to it, you become lazy and careless, like no need to go downstairs to switch MCB off

3 Phases? All Live (Red, Yellow and Blue), have to go back to Neutral to complete circuit.
Don't short phase. If you DB don't trip, your house will burn.

QUOTE(meLi @ Jan 18 2018, 02:25 PM) Can i use this aqara to replace auto gate switch ? Most autogate switch is momentary switch, aqara swich is not momentary switch, so mostly you can't simply do 1-1 replacement.
