Yes, Aqara wall switch can work with smartthings, I don't have one but planning to get it to replace my spoiled broadlink TC2 switch.

can it retrofit the 86 socket? and would you know what are the lines that needs to be connected?

1. where is the best place (read cheap) to buy Raspberry Pi 3 model B + Power Supply , found this inshopee is the price ok?
2. would you recommend to add fan or heatsink if im going to use for HA

How to settle?

smart home sifu's. planning on getting these - my first smart system.
this is what i feel
- zwave good and plenty of devices but on the expensive side
- zigbee - a bit cheaper and with Xiaomi in the game, lagi cheaper and more affordable

so i think i will start off with a xiaomi set first. Only thing is Im banana and Xiaomi no play with Google Home. Gonna add in a Samsung Smartthings hub (just so Google Home can work) later on but still cant decide to get US or UK type. Can the same sensor and switch connect to two hubs, in this case, both Xiaomi and Samsung?

My needs are very simple as follows - please give your opinion and suggestions - thanks in advance

I have two 3 gang at my house. One of them I can solve because got two switches side by side - 2 gang and 3 gang but I only using 4 of the switches. I just opened it up and wires can pass thru both boxes so that means I can put 2 Aqara 2 gang and kautim that area

The other 3 gang switch - I think what I will do is use one Sonoff Basic for one of the switch (that means always On)
The other 2 switches, use a 2 gang Aqara. Actually I can put in those require Neutral as well cause beside this switch has a 3 pin socket so I can tap from there but I prefer to use all the same switches - not rojak. I hate glass touch panels anway

It's actually easier than it sounds. Once you add gateway hub into home assistant, all the aqara sensors/switch connected will be listed.
Then can start customize automation with google assistant

Do you mean this configuration will end up with 2 hubs? One which is the Xiaomi gateway, another the HA server (which can be a smartthing hub / raspberry pi etc)?

Also, are there any delays when issuing a voice command until the actual action happens? I remember seeing a video shared here, and there seemed to be a 5 seconds delay until the light / fan turns on/off.

Just ordered the Xiaomi Gateway from gearbest. Hope they send me the version 2. Didn’t buy the kit as I dun need some items.

What’s the difference between -
1. Square and round temp and humidity sensor? Are they both zigbee?
2. Rounded and square edges door/window sensor?
3. Body motion sensor with mounting stand and without?
Very confusing.
Even wireless switches got 3 different kinds. Dunno what’s the difference 😅

If use with HA, only version 2 (with fm radio) can pair with, version 1 cannot

1,2 - Same zigbee I guess, just newer models
3 - Newer motion sensor got light sensor now (also, this one only pairs with Gateway version 2)

Don't have the newer switches, so far only the old ones can use with ha and customize other actions.
