QUOTE(simmarjit @ Jul 26 2024, 10:04 PM) All routers will extend the range, so lets say you have an Aqara switch that will extend it, your motion sensor is an end device, its not a router so it wont extend it regardless of youre using the sonoff or your Aqara hub. If using Z2M way, pair all the routers first (switches) then only pair the end devices, and i would recommend pairing the end device to a nearby switch/router rather than coordinator, Aqara sensors pair best with Aqara switches. Thanks for your explaination. Currently i am not pairing any router with zigbee2mqtt, but used "homekit device" integration to link aqara m2 hub together with all my aqara switch and sensors. If i were going to pair a sonoff or tuya zigbee compoenent with my HA zigbee2mqtt, will the aqara zigbee network which connected via homekit device extend my zigbee range of zigbee2mqtt to other brand?

Finished adding wifi direct control to all my ac, not relying on ir this time. All you need is esp8266 with some jst cable & connect to port on your ac pcb (check your diagram) You can add this to your homebridge and ha. Obviously daikin has their own app, but not exactly open source. And mitsubishi electric has kumo cloud but they don’t exactly use it here. For other brands, you can just google it, i noticed panasonic, midea, haier has non cloud esp solution.

It can transmit and receive AC signals directly from the AC's board, such as ambient temperature, cooling temperature, operation mode, speed, etc.

QUOTE(lucaswjk @ Jul 27 2024, 06:15 PM) any special features u planned to configure? Not really, i keep getting inverted command on/off with tasmota if someone used the physical remote for daikin. Googled around and apparently there’s already a project that utilizes the cn_wir port for direct control, and problem solved.

No it wont, but if youre running 2 seperate zigbee networks its probably going to interfere, i suggest selling off the M2 and switch to Z2M fulltime when you do decide to get other brand zigbee stuff until then just continue getting Aqara stuff i guess, i did that. I used to use the M2 with that same integration also, also had Hue hub and then sold all the hubs and just change to Z2M. And regarding not getting certain status usually the homekit integration is the one that will report less stuff.

However, after reading the support devices, it seems like zigbee2mqtt support more devices. However, my first trial of motion sensor failed to get the battery status. Hence ditch that approach at the moment.

Hi all, newbie here to start asking questions - is there something to read up first so I don't re-ask basic things? Doing renovation/extension for sub-sale soon and want to plan out possibility of smart home (initially just on/off control for lighting and cooling). My basic reading so far is to use zigbee rather than wifi (zwave costlier), and it seems there's a few brands mentioned in recent pages (aqara? sonoff?) to investigate. The last time I looked into these things Tuya was the go-to, has that changed?

When future when you want to put a smart wall switches, no need those capacitor no neutral type. And a wall plug socket for CCTV positions even for the outside, some may even use the ethernet for CCTV. Those are the basics and priority in my opinion. If you mention Aqara, then should get that brand.

There some of the stuff exposed for some of my devices with Z2M https://imgur.com/a/GAAJVSPYou can also use this site https://www.zigbee2mqtt.io/supported-devices/ to check what is supported and what it exposes.

Hi, I am having some issues of pairing my smatrul zig bee switch into my smart life apps and it's seems can't discover the devices Frist time encountered this issue as previously my other switch all ok or is there any limitations for pairing this ? Currently this is my 7th switch under the same ZigBee hub. Anyone can help 😥 https://youtube.com/shorts/48XpdshA26s?si=KZpgkrasCspuWifp This post has been edited by soonvee: Jul 29 2024, 04:22 PM

Aqara only has 20A switch which should be able support up to my 2.5hp AC, I have a 3.0hp AC that requires 32A switch. I think is not necessary to have smart switch for AC, but good to have.

Trust me, most of these items are OEM for another brand and requires a different method. So sometimes you cannot rely on YouTube. Try using adding device using WiFi if fail try Bluetooth or even ZigBee. You never know which one success. If fails, try naming your handphone with same name and password as your router. And try.
