No did not get Amazon Echo from Walmart.
Actually not into Amazon Echo for my personal usage.
Never said it is a bad. It is always on individual taste.

If the purchase is successful at Amazon India, I take it.If not.Still OK.

Got forwarding service in India?
Or amazon india ships internationally?

I am currently in the UK and using the echo dot + broadlink RM pro + harmony hub to control the household appliances and sky tv box here.

I am moving back to Malaysia next year and thinking of bring all these gadgets back.

I have an Astro decoder in my study room + a HDMI TP-link repeater in my matserroom for the astro purposes. I can control the astro channel with remote even in my room via the IR receiver.

My question is can i use the harmony hub + echo voice command to control the astro channel even if i am in the masterroom?

Any sifu has any suggestion on this?

Thanks

How many mini do you think I need? My living dining and kitchen all same space. If I place one mini at my tv cabinet, will I need another in my open kitchen on the opposite end (without needing to shout)?

I don’t need to hear the speaker, just so it can hear me
Don’t think I want one in my bedroom. After middle of the night it decide to speak to me then die...😅

I rather not buy. Seeing all this in Bic Camera, Labi and Yodobashi Camera, all wrote in japanese. Hardly able to read anything. Even just a spec.

Ask saleman, 100% tell you cannot work or not sure.

Even they can speak English, once you told them "can work in my country or MY ? " their std answer is not or not sure.

So either you gamble, just grab the thing and paid. Some saleman will consent and tell you some restriction. Just acknowledge and paid it.

With echo, they only record after you call alexa
You can even playback your voice commands
So don't start call alexa when you in the middle of piap2 session lol

Google did just disable a tap feature recently on the mini that accidentally records everything.

Not so sure about Google Home Mini yet until I get hold of it.
For my present Google Home can hear you around 15-20 feet away
without shouting.
I would suggest you get 2 units.
1 for the living room or workstation and
1 for the bedroom bedside table -
Set-up as an alarm, listen to audiobooks, morning update or
play (baked-in) soothing nature noise to help you sleep. It has a
built-in catalog of 15 different ambient audio libraries for relaxing.

And later you may like to add smart gadgets around the house.
switching on or off light and alarm from your bedroom.

Ok, so how do you get it to shop to malaysia once purchase at amazon india successful?

Curious to see how well google home mini mike performs
I've got google home, and echo dot picks up voice commands better even with loud background noise or max volume music.

ordered another s20 smart socket from Lazada but they sent me wrong plug type
wasted my time. But this s20 smart socket really reliable. I’m going to use it to turn on off my Xiaofang

ordered 2 more S20 from cheap sources. regret betul
again they came with no box. one was badly scratched. both were dirty and scuffed up
plug both in, only one worked. the other no light at all
really gives me no confidence to carry on using these from cheap sources
from now on, lesson learned, gonna only buy straight from iTeads

that first one unit that i bought for around 40 over ringgit at Lazada, that came with a box - their price now increased almost double
