My friend and I want to play FFXIV together on his PC and my PS4 since I heard there is cross platform play but I heard FFXIV is only available in NA but some people still managed to play the game. How do I do that?

Sorry for bringing up an old topic I'm really noob at this.

now that is totally wrong lol.
FFXIV servers are global so there is no region lock.
though there is JP , NA and EU for the game.
this is for the resubscription payments. which is more easier for u ect.
so it doesnt matter if ur friend buys the EU and u buy the NA , u both will still be able to play together so long as u chose the same server.
hope that helps.

If you buy NA version, your subscription will be priced in US dollar.
If yours is EU version, subscription will be euro/pound, etc.
NA and EU are sharing the same servers.

PC version for PC only.
PS4 version for PS4.
You cannot use PS4 version on PC and vice versa.
*If you use steam, you can only upgrade through steam.

But I can't find the game on PSN or Steam. I looked around and someone said having a physical copy of the game will help but my PS4 must also be from the same country or else it will be region locked. Is that true?

im not sure how ps4 region works, but if it is still the same like it was in ps3, then if ur account is R3 u wont be able to play R1 (NA/US) of the game, so u need to create a new PSN account which is R1.

if you check behind the cd case of ur game, it will show a little globe with a number either 1 2 or 3.
that will be the R1 R2 R3.
so example when u are purchasing FFXIV for the PS4 and u buy an R1 version, meaning u need to sign in account on PSN using a US account. You can create the US PSN ID at the playstation us site smile.gif

Oh I see. So R1, R2, and R3 represents NA, EU, and JAP? Also can you tell how you got FFXIV to work on your PS3? I could use the same method on my PS4.

You need to buy separate copy of the game.

Basically if you want to play using the same account on PS3, PS4 & PC, you have to buy the game 3 times---and they all need to be the same region (US/EU/JP).

So you're saying I need a PS4 account from US and FFXIV from US to play the game? That sounds pretty easy but how do I pay for subscription?

I can't pay via debit card since Maybank decided to be b***h and block all gaming sites like Steam and PSN so where can I buy this time card? And how does it look like?

I usually buy my mmo subs from here: http://www.g2play.net, http://www.offgamers.com

Btw...I'd recommend you buy FFXIV EU version as its time card is cheaper than NA/JP.
And they do accept bank transfer (with processing fees of course).

Really? Besides price and maybe language is there any other difference on which version I buy? Also do I need to buy a time card along with the game or does the game have a 1 month subscription upon purchase?

Depends on what you want and what you can afford.
Do you value digital extras for RM 72

It is not hard to check online btw

RM180 is about the same price as a regular PS4 game and since I plan to play it for a long time I don't really mind spending a little extra.

The Collector's Edition stuff isn't worth it IMO. Better stick to standard edition.
Again...make sure the version you buy is EU if you want cheaper subscription.

Also...make sure you buy the correct version just to be safe.
Like if you're using Square-Enix EU account, buy EU version, etc...

Try garage sale. Play-asia also has it; http://www.play-asia.com/final-fantasy-xiv...en-70-23j4.html

Do mind though, the expansion will works similar way. As in you need to buy them twice to play on 2 system.

tumpang thread ya TS

i have been a fan of FF games and this really attracted me to play but seeing that it is subscription based game and needed to pay, is it worth the experience?

i have been dwelling into maple story and then rappelz US server for a few years before quitting due to lags and grind burnout. also partly because of the commitment and work i rarely spend so much time in mmo already, except for a few steam games like warframe n tf2.

how would you veterans advise?

i started this game during 2.0 which was ARR, i guess nearly 2 years...
i too was sceptic regarding the subscription.. i loved FF games and so i held back in purchasing FF14 ARR becuz of the subscription, but after watching reviews and videos of the game, it was like poison to me, i could no longer heldback and str8 away bought it... never regretted it biggrin.gif
i love the game and now cant wait for 3.0 Heavensward, the storyline is interesting and gameplay wise is very nice imo.
i wont ask u to buy it but u can try it as the game has a 14 day trial if you check the site, so u can just try it for 14 days before purchasing, but the trial has restrictions such as u can progress further than lvl20 i think and u cant add friends ect. but at least u can try the gameplay abit .
so my suggestion is to just try the 14 day trial becuz nothing to lose thumbup.gif

I just started playing the game and yes the subscription fee is worth it. Compared to Elder Scrolls Online (ESO) the game is ten times better in terms of story and community. Like previous FF games its a turned based system and the UI looks confusing at first and takes some time to understand but besides that its awesome. Also an expansion is coming in June so now is the perfect time to play FFXIV

FFXIV is only available in regions NA, EU, and JAP. So the trick is actually to create a new PSN account and select your country as NA or EU. And voila, the game should now be in the PSN store of your new account. For hard copy go to garage sale page [WTS]~E-GAME PS4 STORE.
