My friend and I want to play FFXIV together on his PC and my PS4 since I heard there is cross platform play but I heard FFXIV is only available in NA but some people still managed to play the game. How do I do that?

Sorry for bringing up an old topic I'm really noob at this.

now that is totally wrong lol.
FFXIV servers are global so there is no region lock.
though there is JP , NA and EU for the game.
this is for the resubscription payments. which is more easier for u ect.
so it doesnt matter if ur friend buys the EU and u buy the NA , u both will still be able to play together so long as u chose the same server.
hope that helps.

If you buy NA version, your subscription will be priced in US dollar.
If yours is EU version, subscription will be euro/pound, etc.
NA and EU are sharing the same servers.

PC version for PC only.
PS4 version for PS4.
You cannot use PS4 version on PC and vice versa.
*If you use steam, you can only upgrade through steam.

But I can't find the game on PSN or Steam. I looked around and someone said having a physical copy of the game will help but my PS4 must also be from the same country or else it will be region locked. Is that true?

im not sure how ps4 region works, but if it is still the same like it was in ps3, then if ur account is R3 u wont be able to play R1 (NA/US) of the game, so u need to create a new PSN account which is R1.

if you check behind the cd case of ur game, it will show a little globe with a number either 1 2 or 3.
that will be the R1 R2 R3.
so example when u are purchasing FFXIV for the PS4 and u buy an R1 version, meaning u need to sign in account on PSN using a US account. You can create the US PSN ID at the playstation us site smile.gif

Oh I see. So R1, R2, and R3 represents NA, EU, and JAP? Also can you tell how you got FFXIV to work on your PS3? I could use the same method on my PS4.

You need to buy separate copy of the game.

Basically if you want to play using the same account on PS3, PS4 & PC, you have to buy the game 3 times---and they all need to be the same region (US/EU/JP).

So you're saying I need a PS4 account from US and FFXIV from US to play the game? That sounds pretty easy but how do I pay for subscription?

I can't pay via debit card since Maybank decided to be b***h and block all gaming sites like Steam and PSN so where can I buy this time card? And how does it look like?

I usually buy my mmo subs from here: http://www.g2play.net, http://www.offgamers.com

Btw...I'd recommend you buy FFXIV EU version as its time card is cheaper than NA/JP.
And they do accept bank transfer (with processing fees of course).

Really? Besides price and maybe language is there any other difference on which version I buy? Also do I need to buy a time card along with the game or does the game have a 1 month subscription upon purchase?

Depends on what you want and what you can afford.
Do you value digital extras for RM 72

It is not hard to check online btw

RM180 is about the same price as a regular PS4 game and since I plan to play it for a long time I don't really mind spending a little extra.

The Collector's Edition stuff isn't worth it IMO. Better stick to standard edition.
Again...make sure the version you buy is EU if you want cheaper subscription.
