Club Anthem

HISTORY

Legend has it that one day over a century ago, November 1, 1897 to be exact, a group of youngsters age 14 to 17 from the D'Anzeglio High School in Turin, sitting on an uncomfortable bench on a street called Corso Re Umberto, decided to start a sports club with the aim of playing football. The same legend has it that the club was called "Juventus" more or less by chance, and that the name was immediately loved and adopted as a way of life.

The Bench that started it all

The Club, who's first president was Enrico Cafari, changed headquarters often but soon made a name for itself against many more expert teams in town. The players weared pink jerseys. Juventus made their debut in the Italian championship in 1900, wearing this uniform. The black and white one was imported directly from Nottingham in 1903. The team played in Piazza d'Armi. Meanwhile some of the early games were played on a field near the current train station of Porta Susa. This field was soon covered by buildings and Juventus rented a field on the Motovelodromo Umberto I in the Crocetta part of town instead. Juventus played here until 1906. Juventus then moved to the north of the city and the Stadio di Corso Marsiglia. This small stadium was known as “Campo Juventus" in Turin.

ahh~ breath of fresh air

btw, a crucial week this going to be. Double header with Monaco & Lazio in the weekend

But as importance as Serie A is going to be(if Lazio win they'll close the gap to 9pts with 7 matches to go)..i think Champions League should be the priority.

great win agaisnt in form lazio. against monaco hopefully we will keep pressure them and get an away goal asap.
*
like last night showing, this Allegri Juve looks to be comfortable in playing sitting back and counter-attack

Monaco needed a goal so they will be attacking, but due to their defensive nature they might sit back instead and
tried to hit Juve on the counter

and last night i'd noticed both Bonucci & Chiellini got their head "elsewhere" in the game. Giving a cheap ball away esp in dangerous area
I hope both of em wouldn't repeat that in UCL, and against team like Bayern or Barca that would be suicidal

getting nervous & anxious at the same time waiting for the match tonight

and what a semi-final would it be if Juve went through, seeing that 2 UCL powerhouse already sealing a place at the semis along with 2 another powerhouse from Spain vying for another one

all in all hopefully Juve wouldn't taking Monaco for granted and already thinking of the place in the semi-final. Bcoz nothing is certain yet

Glad that we able to protect our 1 goal advantage, but i really not convinced with tonight performance, monaco really gave us few dangerous moment but overall i believe we can still beat them if only we show more fighting sprit. This match was very dull. We did too many mistakes, lost ball possession many times, mis passes everywhere. This is worrisome.

So the teams that will be in the final are juve barca bayern rm. i choose rm over bayern or barca.
*
yeap. Juve lack of concentration are worrisome. But now, at the semis, all the team they gotta to face is the top 3 in Europe/World

any sort of mistakes like that against any of the team above would be deadly

and i agree with u, all of them are tough bunch, but hopefully we draw Real Madrid

we're definitely the 'underdog'

much like when we did against the 'Galactico' Madrid(semi-final) & 'Unbeaten' Barcelona(Barca was 11wins 1 draw until they meet Juve) back in 2003 UCL

and remember the Italy back in 2006 and 2012?

'favorite' tag really doesn't suit Italian much and i'd still remember Juve were among the favorite back in 2005 & 2006 UCL under Capello but both time they got dumped by both Liverpool & Arsenal

i think the 'underdog' status suits us just fine
