Hehehe, Napoli is owned by a film producer/maker. You can sense that the team takes on the owner's persona after a while. Just look at the way he brings himself in the media.

If Bonucci were to come back, do you think it's a good idea to accept him back in the squad? Just curious; seems like we could use him back in the squad and he's not really enjoying his Milan stint.
*
yup nod.gif

as for bonucci, i dont think he will ever come back. not after the way he left. i think for this season, the pair of chiellini and rugani is strong with a healthy howedes. that guy is good i tell you. if he is fit that is. also, next season we will have have caldara. i think caldara and rugani are the way forward

Wow, OK I know it's group stages but Spurs beat Real 3-1  blush.gif

yeah coz they attacked without fear and high pressed real. tottenham was like a smaller size guy jumping on top of a bigger size guy and hurled a series of punches. kudos to them.. unlike us yawn.gif

failure to qualify for WC. How low can Buffon, Bazagli, Chiellini and Bonucci go... first the UCL loss, now missing out on the WC

Giampiero Ventura sucks donkey balls but I cant help but the have the feeling that our BBBC kind of have a loser / runner up mentality or fate. Buffon while a legend I think is too soft and nice as a captain. His is a kind and caring type of influence. While this type of leadership willl serve well in a company, I am not sure it will work with a bunch of 20 year olds. With Buffon as a captain, the following have happened:

- Knocked out in the group stage of WC2010 in a group consisting of New Zealand
- Lost Euro 2012 final
- Knocked out in the group stage of the WC2014
- Lost UCL 2015 final
- Lost UCL 2017 final
- Failed to qualify for 2018 WC

Now I am not not doubting his quality, his legend but I cant help but think he is too soft as a captain. He is always smiling and praising the opponents. Opponents respect him but do not fear him and everyone knows that if you or the team you captained strike fear in an opponent even before a ball is kicked, you would have won 30 to 40% of the battle already. Maybe it is Juve's lo stile Juve. Mr Gentleman. It might work in the 60s 70s Agnelli eras but football have evolved. ITalian football, Allegri, all italian clubs need to change this mindset, marketing, their approach to football all together. If Italy still wishes to pride themselves of being a defensive nation, then they really should look into their youth and start producing the next series of Nesta, Cannavarro instead of a Davide Astori. Heck even our BBC is strong as a unit but individually are far from being a Nesta Cannavarro standard. Its either you go ultra defensive or start producing ultra talented midfielders and attackers. While Belotti, Insigne, Verratti boast talent they are not of WC standard. Italian football is really in its darkest age. Our young defenders are talented but not WC, our mid and att are talented and but not WC. Our old guard boasts huge experience but is fading fast and even in their prime they were never truly world class unless playing as BBBC unit. Italy is currently neither here nor there. Even England seem to get their act together now winning the WC U17 and U20 WCs. They will be a huge huge threat in the coming years along side Argentina, Brazil, France, Belgium, Spain and Germany doh.gif

wow...i just couldn't process this feeling for a moment..

has been watching International Tourney since World Cup 1998 & Euro 2000, every then & now Italy always made it to the said tournament

now, its a kind of strange & sad feeling at the same time

but, seeing Gigi shed tears gave an even sadder feeling..
*
exactly.. why is GOD not fair. a nice person like buffon has to lose UCL finals repeatedly and bow out of international in such circumstances while asses like Sergio Ramos and Pepe won every single thing cry.gif

seeing Italy, esp our Capitano, didn't made it to the WC, made me sad, but looking at this pics, i'd also feel proud of him

[attachmentid=9340707]

not many players in the world were admired & respected by friends & foes. Buffon is a rare breed indeed
a gentleman both on & off the pitch, hence why we called him Superman, not only due to his great ability
as a GK, but also his personality & attitude, much like heroic Clark Kent

hopefully he got his one last hurrah b4 he goes into full retirement, the coveted UCL...
*
yeah....even opponents feel bad for him...really sad to see him cry like that, he deserves way way better. i hope and pray we get the UCL. even if it is a boring UCL final we won on lucky deflection playing very shit n boring football or being named as very lucky i do not mind as long as he can get the UCL as a farewell for him cry.gif

QUOTE(noir7559 @ Nov 20 2017, 07:26 PM)
Juve 2017/18 explained in a 3 paragraphs short notes

1. Our defensive/offensive line is SO deep we could probably find the wreckage of the Titanic. When you play so deep, it takes a much longer distance to get to the opponent's goal. More distance means more time. More time means our opponents are usually back in their defensive positions by the time we reach the halfway line. We don't have players nearly fast enough to make a decent attack over that kind of distance.

2. Our "Wingers" are a scam. They are not wingers. They are defensive LM/RMs. Look at how many times Mandz and Cuadrado have to turn back and pass to our CBs. They can't take on their man like Costa or Berna or Dybala. In an attacking move, they are a waste of possession. We sacrifice TWO of the most important positions in modern football, just for some defensive cover. And still concede goals for fun.

3. Non-existent midfield. Look at how our play goes. Pjanic and Khedira barely touch the ball. When the opponent attack, once they clear our forwards, they reach our defenders with no midfield pressure. I've said it before and i'll say it again, we CANNOT play two CMs with players like these. Look at the 2nd Samp goal. Zero midfield cover from Pjanic and Khedira at all. Their midfielder was free to waltz in and shoot on his own time.
*
agree totally. midfield was overrun whenever we play a 2 man midfield and especially when pairing khedira with pjanic. khedira is done. he should now be a bench / rotation player instead of a first teamer. Marchisio or Matuidi should pair with pjanic. this is a no brainer

as for our "wingers", they are a disgraced. last season mandzu and cuard were effective coz no one expected allegri will be insane enough to deploy a tank target man as a left winger. it took everyone by surprised. the element of surprise made up for mandzu's insuitability to play on the wing last season. this season, everyone knows how to stop him and exploit his weakness, hence he is totally useless on the left. As for cuard, his lack of good decision making was made up by dani alves's creativity and crossing from right back. this season he has been paired alot with the going down hill lict. di siglio is also ever missing from the line up... doh.gif

at left back.. asamoah is no longer like the pre-injury / conte days asamoah.he is also done along with our grand master barzagli. he is really showing his age. As for sturaro, he should never be near our starting lineup if cuard or mandzu both starts. we have enough of lack of creativity. entire team depends on dybala and pjanic to create. no wonder opponents shut down dybala and pjanic easily

players who should be sold or should only be subs: lict, asamoah, manzu, khedira, sturaro, barzagli

well, the only one who are the master of 3-5-2 is Antonio Conte. And then, that was when BBC were in their prime. Now Barzagli already past his best. Rugani still improving while Chiellini, even the most
reliable among those 3, are not the same player he was back then

i still think that our strength in the team this season is in the attack, but when u put a "fake" winger, u literally sacrificing creativity for defensive ability (and the funny thing is
we're still conceding left & right every matches)
not surprising one bit to me. Loyal player(s) are like a diamond in a rough nowadays.

but still, out of all those people, i don't mind Pogba tbh, but Dani Alves? The one whose responsible for the breakdown in CL final...

loyalty is precious indeed
*
i think it is not 100% due to loyalty that players want to leave juve. i think attacking players in particular do not really like playing at juve. At juve, the focus is always on defense., Defensive tactics, defensive drills, whole team needs to be solid. Attackers are secondary and attacking tactics not priority. as long as you are able to score a goal or two and the defense can hold out a 0 concede everything will be fine. such approach wins you titles, defensive players will be happy but can never win us a one off cup game or retain super star attackers. thats my view tongue.gif

QUOTE(Deani_77 @ Nov 22 2017, 05:18 PM)
Previously we have one jersey no 10 player for more than 10 years but now perhaps we have 10 jersey no 10 player for 10 years period. I guess give that no 10 number will not secure that player to play with us forever.
*
the 10s whom stayed with us for a rather long time were mainly players from the olden days (omar sivor, platini, boniperti etc). Del piero is from the modern times but i reckon he will be the last of our loyal number 10. unless we play like a barcelona or a real madrid attacking, there is a higher chance of a number 3 or 4 staying longer than our number 10. Number 10 are mainly attacking players, playing at juve is abit weird as we are not an attackin team. we do not give our number 10 alot of attacking freedom or surround him with other top attacking players. we like to surround our number 10 with grinta and grinders like mandzu or a cuard or a conte or a deschamps. In addition, our number 10s are usually coveted by real and barca or those rich bpl clubs. As we do not have the money to retain them they might also move due to money as well. So there are a few factors. i do not attribute 100% on players got no loyalty and 100% greedy

but like you said. it could be some time before we see another Del Piero 10 in terms of loyalty or we might never see one again bye.gif

it's really dark period of italy, there's not much talent emerges. even juve could not have stable team with the new generation of players born after 1990s. unless suddenly player like bernadeschi become regular and bang in goals for fun, we would not have no 10 more than 1-2 years.

agreed. bye.gif

Happy New Year to u & all of our LYN Bianconeri too

just remember our tagline here

"We might be as many as our fingers here in LYN..but size doesn't matter. What matters are we bleed BLACK & WHITE"

anyway, what an upset last night. Atalanta downed Napoli at San Paolo to reach Coppa Italia semi final (probably they want to maintain their focus on Serie A,
and i'm not surprised if they bow out of Europa League after this)

having said that, even with our home advantage we should never take Torino lightly

we're not small mentality team like Napoli who only want to focused on one competition. We should be competing in all along the way. Forza Juve!
*
seems like napoli is sacrificing everything for the serie a if they dont win it it will be very painful sweat.gif laugh.gif
