@dcking i dont suggest you to use Carbon bats for now, use a full wood bat and your rubbers, you wouldnt be able to control the ball since this two bats are tensor rubbers, meant for players at a certain level. A normal Butterfly Sriver or Yasaka Mark V should be enough. Added on January 3, 2010, 12:42 pmQUOTE(Darkmage12 @ Jan 1 2010, 09:07 AM) that one is they say only.... some people wanted to end the game faster so they created this rule that is an old rule.. it did exist pre 11 point game.. but now since the services rules have changed and guidelines have changed, this rule does not apply. QUOTE(loneboy62 @ Jan 3 2010, 07:39 PM) The price to me sound amazing! as far as i know, sriver g2 already rm110 and u spent the rest with rm90? I don't really believe rm90 can get a carbon blade unless that is a fake carbon. If your blade everything is real, then it will be very nice since carbon blade usually will be lighter than the full wood blade. and you need to get some time to get used to it if you have familiar with wood blade. All new blade need to have more time to adjust your style!! As a beginner a player needs to learn how to feel the ball contact with the ball, so that he/she can control the spin and speed of the ball. The dwell time of a carbon bat, whether fake or real is minimal, and this will only make u lose interest in the game. I have used Sriver G2 before and it is not an easy rubber to control. It takes months.

QUOTE(dcking @ Jan 4 2010, 06:55 PM) thx for ur advise bro.... btw, what is tensor rubber? Tensor Rubbers are used nowadays as a rubber which incorporates built in speed glue effect or highly quick rubbers for example Bryce Speed, Tibhar Nimbus VIP or even Sriver G3. The sponge a standard tensor rubber uses is either made in Japan or in Germany, which u should know "Andro" comes from. The factory that makes tensor sponges is named the ESN

QUOTE(redferrari @ Jan 5 2010, 09:10 PM) I believe you meant the 2 rubbers and NOT the "two bats". Also, none of the 2 rubbers mentioned are actually tensor rubbers. They are non-tensor rubbers. An example of tensor rubbers would be the like of Butterfly Tenergy series, Palio Macro Era, Ando Roxon 500Pro, Haifu BW2, etc etc... The two rubbers not the bat of course. Typo mistake As for the rubbers i did mention in a later post, i did not reference Sriver and Yasaka Mark V as a tensor rubber. I said that Posted Yesterday, 07:34 PM "Tensor Rubbers are used nowadays as a rubber which incorporates built in speed glue effect or highly quick rubbers for example Bryce Speed, Tibhar Nimbus VIP or even Sriver G3." And there are two type of tension sponges made, one by Japan and the other by Germany. Only German-made tension sponges are called Tensor and brands like Andro, Tibhar and Joola.. use it. Tenergy is not a Tensor Rubber, coz the sponge is not made by the ESN factory in Germany. Tenergy sponge is a specialized Jap Tension Sponge. I believe that the BW2 is factory tuned especially the provincial and national version, so is Palio. Ive not heard of Chinese rubbers having an ESN sponge except for the 729 Friendship Highpoint

QUOTE(dcking @ Jan 6 2010, 09:50 AM) wah..so complicated! so many rubbers Yep there are zillion rubbers in the market, some you have never heard of too. But you just need to pick a rubber which suits you fine and learn to play with it. @suppaman Xiom is good but give it some time to develop like Tibhar or Butterfly

QUOTE(redferrari @ Jan 6 2010, 11:26 PM) Sorry about that, I must have mis-read or mis-understood what I read. Anyway, I have been using T05, and it aint easy to use them. But once you get the hang of their character and understand the way to make use of its strength, they are awesome!! The only problem I have is that it slits n crack/tear after using them extensively. I am not too sure if this is cos I am unlucky or what, but I understand from other users that this is a common problem with the Tenergies! I dont really believe and expect this from a 200RM rubber!! So, caveat emptor! This is because high tension sponges or speed-glue effect rubbers use solvents in-built to expand the rubber and this causes the rubber edges to crack and after sometime to lose its "magical" properties. I have a high-end rubber as well, its normal.. get used to it Just remember, this rubbers are used by Professionals so its not for long term, its mostly short term

QUOTE(suppaman @ Jan 7 2010, 10:17 AM) yes, i have this problem actually and its high cost Well its two things you can do : 1. Maintain your rubbers really well, meaning its like looking after a child or gf. Buy a rubber cleaner from Andro or Butterfly. and clean it every time u end a day worths of play. 2. Dont buy rubbers with speed-glue effect or the Tenergy Series. You can go for rubbers in the Bryce region or Maybe stiga rubbers like STIGA BOOST TC..look out for it Its pretty good. But in essence its all about maintenance.

@bibq WHy dont u get a good tensor rubber that can compensate the speed factor for the LAK that u have. HUrricane 2 and xt will only be quick if u speed glue it. But you are not ready for this things. So since a 5 ply wood is made for control, why dont you invest in a rubber like Skyline 3 Neo or Palio Bio 8000J i think. i think personally u should try dawei quattro. its a gorgeous rubber.

@bibg tensor rubbers require more skill to spin the ball at your ease. This is because of contact point. the ball bounces off at a faster rate with tensor rubbers. Unless you can spin well with slower rubbers, then its not an advisable thing to use a tensor rubber at this stage.
If youre getting cosy with your hurricane, its a good sign. Master the rubber then. Dont switch just because of a cheap thrill of using speed and finishing. There is a lot more to table tennis than this two things. Control and tactics is key

is yours a japanese penhold or chinese reverse penhold? if yours is a jap penhold, i would suggest you to get a 1 ply bat, its equally as quick as any 3+2 around. But if u r adamant of a carbon setup save up to rm200 first and get yourself a decent Butterfly penhold.

tulpe is a bit too slow for your liking. Most chinese rubbers unless they are factory tuned or pre tuned, they dont perform like u want em, unless ur a china player or national player. At a low budget, probably you can try some Champion blades? They have good makes.

why would you use carbon, if you cant control a 5 ply wood? most players i know drop to 5 ply for control, when they cant control carbon bats. A carbon bat often is an off+/off bat. If youre intending to go for a control bat, get a full wood bat, and in fact 5 ply are famous for being a control setup. Im pretty famous in presports since ive been their customer for almost 2 yrs now Bluten is ok, but for me a good investment on bat is a must, even if the rubber is cheap. And one more note, Hurricane 2 is not an easy rubber to master. you have to learn to loop with the rubber more than flat hit it.
