Hi you all

I have two little sisters (6&14years old) they are both so good and talented in drawing...comic type..

In the digital world they've been using Paint for quite a long time but you know this program is so limited! I see them work in the zoom mode with that huge pixels all the time !

So I really need a better painting and drawing program and which is suitable for their ages..I'm struggling badly with Photoshop btw lol...

Please guys I feel a great responsibility towards my lill sisters and I really wish you can suggest any idea for them ...

i guess it's not too late to even start ask your sibling to adapt to wacom tablets at their age, probably it'll be their 'life tools' later

http://www.wacom.com/

not promoting but i guess its really no harm for people interests in drawing/illustration

a tablet...never thought about it !! interesting.. so all these manga is being drawn with a tablet ?

but lets just leave it for now cause what I really want is to encourage them using every single advantage could a good program offer..lets say you draw a circle with the mouse sure it wont be that perfect so you will need to EDIT it and this is the point but with a tablet you are more likely to draw a fine circle...

hmm...you guys suggesting Photoshop and I did mention that I've started learning it 6 weeks ago and I don't have any idea how to draw a line and turn it to a circle...

really want more suggestions and I really appreciate all your help...

Photoshop is quite easy to follow. At first a bit blur, but try to google up good tutorial sites. Follow the tutorials, and then give a bit of tweaks to the steps to see how the effect changes according to the tweaks. Then you'll learn when to use what functions and settings for certain designs. Gd luck to them.

Next time be a lil bit specific with your title. And do not CAPITALIZE your words as it is like SHOUTING in the cyberworld.

if ur sisters love drawing, a tablet would be the most ideal tool for them to work with together with Photoshop.

if they like to paint characters out from scratch, you can try Painter.

whatever it is, drawing and digital painting is done easier with a tablet.

Yea, I'm agree with Etsuko. Ask your siblings to go for Photoshop as their basics. It's easy and friendly user, can be easily adapt. It won't be much harder than paint. A lil advanced only. No pun intended. biggrin.gif

Lol Drawing + Photoshop =! Great.
You should try OpenCanvas, it's great for anime-styled drawing/coloring. And it's cheap, PLUS the previous versions are for free.

For painting, get Painter Pro ($$$!) for almost-perfect natural media emulation (oil/watercolor, etc) or Project Dogwaffle for casual painting.
