Instead of opening with real player, open your RMVB file with Windows Media Player (even if it says incompatible extension, just ignore it)

Then use CRTL+I to capture your screenshot

Enable or disable ? If not mistaken, "Overlay Mixer" is not ticked (in Media Player Classic), which means disable. See my screenshot :

For WMP, disable hardware acceleration (under "Display Properties") will solve the problem capturing image but got blank screen only.

I deselect the Overlay Mixer as per note "Saving images won't work with these renderers" - see screenshot.

I just playing around for the best option. Actually, those option is set to create "thumbnail" in MPC.

CTRL + I and print screen is two different thing. Try & you'll know why.

but when you enable the VMR9 option, isn't it same like enable the overlay mixer??

becoz direct x 9 can make you print screen the movie by enable the overlay...

So your codec is Real alternative, what player did you use? Never see this error before

I got that error "GetCurrentImage failed, hr = 8000ffff" when Ctrl-I with Overlay Mixer setting. Capture success with other Renderers. This is Media Player Classic. All codecs.
