QUOTE(jienster @ Dec 7 2006, 11:02 AM) i just came back from aussie, and i had my tmnet installed this morning. got the 1mbps package, but my modem's reading 512kb upstream, 256kb downstream. and my p2p's crawling at 8kbps!!! 80 smth seeders and 2 leechers. omg... btw i'm in sibu, sarawak. your line is not configured to 1Mbs yet. all new tmnut lines are set to 512K by default. you have to call those morons at tmnut to set your port to 1Mbs. As for P2P, it has been throttled to high heaven since September. if you signed up without knowing this, then tmnut did a good job of cheating you of your hard earned money.

QUOTE(littlefox @ Dec 20 2006, 09:57 AM) Anyone notice the top half of the full page ad Streamyx put out in yesterday's (18/12/2006) edition of Computimes in the New Straits Times? Looks like they're basically announcing that they are really throttling high-bandwidth connections. No real new information for anyone on this thread in that ad, but the funny thing is they said that they're not punishing people who use high bandwidth. I've scanned the advert I mentioned and it is here: http://tinyurl.com/yamzsli don't buy NST so i didn't see the tmnut advert, but from your scan, i see they admit that they are throttling. they should have annouced this sooner and on their websites and on all newspapers, not just NST. they also contradicted themselves with this article when they sold us their so called "unlimited" packages. i wonder if they are opening themselves to countless lawsuits by admitting they are throttling our lines?

QUOTE(sani_othman @ Jan 28 2007, 12:43 AM) taiko hmm..why major europe country didnt limit their internet. answer me answer me... » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « if they do,sure everybody protest and burn ISP's building.look at france,US,Germany etc... ISPs in US & Europe don't throttle their bandwidth because they have a law that protects their customers and it's called CONSUMER RIGHTS. If they did what tmnut is doing right now, most of their customers would just go to another ISP (because they have more choices there, unlike us) and they can get sued for false advertising. Unfortunately for us, there is no such law in this backward, poor excuse for a shithole country, that protects consumers like us from being cheated by the greatest conman ISP in the world - TMnet. We in Malaysia, have nothing to protect our consumer rights. The farking corrupt malaysian goverment protects corrupt crony companies like tmnut instead of protecting the consumer rights of the RAKYAT! So that is why tmnut can say things like "Best Effort" & "We are throttling P2P to ensure FAIR usage", etc. until the cow comes home. Nobody can take any action against them because they are protected by the MAFIA Goverment of Malaysia. Understand?
