Yes it will be more than 1k definitely.
If you send the apple store, they will offer you to change the whole phone to refurbished phone, instead of repairing the screen
If 3rd party outside, you can get the repairman to repair the screen only
You can try to PM Wimpykid for 3rd party repairman

Been through the same case as you last month. Went to Mac city 1U to change to refurbished set for rm1,100. Trust me, if you to maintain your warranty, don't go for 3rd party.

new iphone = 1 year
if you get a refurbished one from Apple = will continue your warranty period, or 3 months, whichever is longer.

can i walk into apple service centre and request to get a refurbished one? what are the standard rates now?

i have been told that a shop in lowyat offers screen replacement for rm600 only..to spend 1000++ for the sake of 10 months of hardware warranty is worth it or not?

I asked for a quote from one of the forumers here who have a iphone repair shop, he quoted me RM950 for a china LCD screen. So i thought since i top up a little to RM1100, i can get a refurbished set, then i just proceed with mac city

bought my iphone at australia last september. then screen cracked last month. mac city sent the phone back to SG and replace it with a refurbished set in 2 weeks. RM1.4k is abit overpriced. Do you have friends in KL to help to change the phone at mac city?

Normally copy screens will cost around 500 - 600 ++ for iphone 6 depending on the quality type. If your phone is still under warranty better get refurbished unit as the whole phone will be still covered under warranty. Replacing 3rd party screen basically voids the phone warranty.

That's why nowadays a lot of ppl are opting to get tempered glass screen protectors to avoid cracked screens. Thought it does not guarantee 100% your screen will be saved from drops (as it depends on your luck), but at least it gives 95% of the time your screen is safe nod.gif

Wow moving motorcycle sweat.gif
But do consider getting a replacement set bcos if you change the screen by 3rd party, u will void the warranty, unless you dun care the warranty anymore la

Yup, 1.4k is a lot of money. sweat.gif but, u need to think whether in 10 months there is no problem with ur phone. we can't expect there is no problem with hardware. i still remember that i had to sent my ip5 for warranty as the power button can't be press 2 weeks before my warranty expired and i got extra 3 months warranty.

for ur case, it depend on u. if u trust the repairman, just go for it. as others said, afraid if they change the inner part of ur iphone and also when u repair outside, no more warranty.

TS, read this bro. Even a iphone repairman adviced you to go to apple for replacement. Anyway, its your choice smile.gif
