Hi all, I'm a diploma holder and I'm now working. Problem is my job now is not my field of study.
Just recently, a company called me and offer me a job with my field of study but the salary is lower than what I got here in the current company.

I'm not sure if I should stay or take up the new offer. Please give me some opinion on which is better in the long run.

if you like your current job (regardless whether it have anything to do with what you have learn)...then just stick with it...,in my opinion doing what you like is going to benefit you in the long run...

well it depends lo.. which working environment u think is good is the most important..

then next u check the salary.. my friend graduated in mechanics but his salary only 300 a month coz still consider fresh graduate.. then now he changed to sales where his salary is 800... for mechanic the salary to rise need around 2 years.. and somemore.. 300 is sooo low...

it depends lo.. but i think it doesn't necessary to work what u study for.. u can always learn around and get experience.. ^^ just what i think.. cheers.

don't look into your basic salary 1st, look into your job prospect. Find the best job that suit your interest and your future.

I'm not so sure if I like the current job or not. And I'm not even sure if I'll like the new one or not. Now working in office and the company offer me is a factory job...

Mind to explain? IMO, working in a field without a cert will be very hard to get promotions...

300 a month? Serious? That's way too low. Not enough to cover food and rental

haih, it all depends on the job's "BENEFIT"

you should see from the "long-run" point of view... even if a company is offering you a low salary right now, doesnt mean that it will stay that way in 2-3 years now would it?

get as much experience as you could in the job that's in your line of study... eventually, when u have enough experience, you could always move on to a better environment...

You ask the young people and they say they want money. But you ask the old people and they tell you to do what interests you.

Besides, just becoz you did a degree in X doesn't mean you can't do Y. I have an engineering degree but I'm doing sales. Tun Mahathir is a medical doctor but he ended up doing politics. I know a guy who has a law degree but is a Project Manager in a IT company. And with any degree u can go into teaching.

I found that many ppl nowadays taking d degree just for the sake of having that certification.

Doing what interest u the most is the best thing in the working world. Imagine u got pretty high salary, yet every morning u wake up and u do not feel like going to work (this e.g does not apply to lazy ppl ), that is really sucks..

Try to find a job with a balance in the salary and ur interest, never go for any one of the factor onli..u'll regret in d long run

if talking about your field of work and field of study..
you should ask yourself, whether you like or current work or not?

another thing to be considered is is your career path.. if your new job offer more bright future, then maybe you should move there.. nowdays theres so many ppl doing different thing from what their studies..

me myself, now working in totally different field with my studies..

taking IT, now doing admin..lol

Ok, for my opinion... depend on that company also... if your current company is good and boss also good then you might consider stay.

If you wanna accept the offer please make sure the company that you go is good and can give u a bright future in your career line. If i will scare you regret.

Since you're job is an office and your offering is a factory. Well, we do need more info, like what really is THE job in office and in the factory.
Go survey around, see if the working condition in the factory department is good or not. Well, with a diploma in factory, sadly its hard to climb in its cooperate ladder.
Never tied up with what you study and want u MUST work as. Plenty of my friends didnt work up as what they study.
Check the status/line of work of the company your currently working. Is it what you want? are u comfortable in it? is the prospect good?
The new job, whats the working hours? how far from your working area compared with the current job?
Take all this in consideration. Then choose again.
