Hello, would like to get some advice.

Got a minor hit on the back of my Toyota cross by a private saloon car and the person decided to claim insur. Both made reports on the same day.

I called Toyota SC they explained they would launch an OD KFK insurance claim method rather not claiming directly from the other party. I texted the sergeant and he said will issue a summon to the party who knocked on me and asked me to buy salinan report at the counter

Questions would like to clarify:

1. Should I move ahead with the OD KFK since it is faster and a text from the sergeant is 100% convincing? Or is better to wait till the police report results out in within 14 days
2. does the Salinan report have validity? if want to take the result altogether it saves me a trip to the police station
3. As My insurer informed me there is 7-day validity to submit for OD KFK otherwise need to submit a late letter, this is a common practice for all accidents as long as the police report would be self explanatory ? Would the SC helped on submit this on behalf rather ?
4. Should I inform the party on this approach ?

Appreciate TS who started this, it is very informative!

1. Go ahead with OD KFK. Much faster and less hassle. However bare in mind if at end of the day, you fail to convince police to saman the other guy, your claim will convert back to OD and NCD will be forfeited
2. Police report has no expiry date. Check with your workshop, they usually have runner to help collecting police documents
3. Any submission exceed a week is usually consider late submission and you will need to explain yourself. This is because many fraud arises from late submission, hence late submission will automatically trigger insurance company as suspicious. Again, workshop will usually do for you
4. No

Thank you and got it!

I have gotten the police report from the Insp. myself which i told him i urgently needed it, therefore should be complete documents to submit now. Regarding the runner who will do the job, as i going directly to my principal SC for the claim, they mentioned they do not have a runner to run this kind of errand and only if i hire one which costs money. Hence everything was managed by myself, which already driven to the police station at least 3 times.
