Hi guys,

Need advise on my case.

I kena hit and run but my dashcam manage to capture the incident. I have a police report and the police has concluded that it is the other party's fault.

So I went to the Honda repair centre (cause car still under warranty), the office told me I cannot claim third party because the other person never make police report.

Is this true?

Guys,

My car got hit and run by a motorbike this morning, side mirror gone and car panel scratched?

The incident might have caught on car dashcam or might not ( I havent check yet)

Question, can I claim insurance for repair without afecting NCD? If the dashcam managed to capture the motorbike registration number?
*
Motorbike a bit hard to claim insurance but you can try.

Mine was with another car and manage to catch on dashcam. Need to go to the commissioner of oath to get the documents stamped. Some extra work but definitely better than burning NCB.

Just did mine with the commissioner recently.

What you need are:
1. IC
2. Police report
3. Police decision
4. Car damage picture FROM the police with the report number
5. Your insurance policy.
6. The other party's insurance details (can get from JPJ, but you need to have the police decision first to request, normally if you are victim and police has ruled in your favour, JPJ will give)
7. A front page letter stating all the above are true and that you want to claim third party. You may need to summarise your case also.

You can also use https://www.mycarinfo.com.my/ to check which insurance the other party is using. Don't think can use for the above though.

Hello Guys,

Appreciate if anyone can give some advice to me:-
1. Someone "kissed" my behind and i have already made a report, but the person who bang me didnt make any report, will it affected the accident "keputusan" result? since i am going to claim under OD knock-for-knock.
2. How long do i have to wait for the keputusan from the Sargent and whether i should keep approach the Sargent for the update?
3. I have already furnished those accidents pictures to the Sargent, will that help to speed up the process?
4. My car dmg is very minimal but require to touch up and maybe respray the bumper also replace the clips, will that affect my claim since the cost is not more than RM500 i guess.
5. Can i send my car to workshop now and tell them to claim under OD KFK while waiting for the keputusan?

Appreciate your advice.

1. As long as it is clear that you are not wrong, the sergeant should conclude. Best is video proof.
2. Mine took about a week. It was a hit and run case.
3. Depends how busy he is I guess.
4. Depends on your insurance company. I advice send back to the official workshop eg Honda send back to Honda workshop.
5. I think can but best wait for the decision.

The headache would come when the other party's insurance try and delay so that you "give up" and just claim on your own insurance.

Hi TS, can I get your advice on my recent two car accidents.

1st case on July 2019. A taxi driver hit my rear while queuing up for toll. I made a report, but the taxi driver did not. The Sarjan told me as long as taxi driver did not make a police report, Sarjan will not give the keputusan. I will not be able to claim taxi's insurance, I can only claim mine.

2nd case on September 2019. A driver hit my rear (again) while I am queuing up for toll (same toll). I also made a report. The another driver did not make the police report. At the police station, the Sarjan checked that the driver is not the owner of the car. Sarjan called the owner of the call, car owner say he sold his car but did not change the name of car registration. Then Sarjan asked the car owner to ask the driver to make a police report.

Since my bumper was hit twice it was very broken and I had to replace it with a new one, with my own money. and the drivers on road are tailgating every time at queue. There is no telling when or how I would be hit again and at this rate, I can easily go broke. I wonder if you can give me some advice how can I recover my financial from such frequent incidents.

Install rear cam.

Not sure about the taxi case but for the 2nd case, with video proof, you can claim against the other car's insurance, as long as there is keputusan from the police.

Hi everyone

Im using honda so my first year insurance is under HIP Zurich

Soon i need to renew my insurance and i prefer to buy AXA insurance, but I cannot see any honda body & paint service centre in their preferred / panel workshop.

Axa preferred workshop
Axa Panel Workshop

That means if get into accident i cannot repair at authorized honda centre? I want to maintain my warranty with them so this is important

Unlike Berjaya Sompo, they clearly listed honda body & paint workshop is their panel
Berjaya Sompo Honda Workshop
None of the official honda workshop is listed in Axa panel list

I think if you renew it at the Honda centre (means take HIP), by right should have.

My car was hit by a car at the back On the 29/8 while waiting at a junction. My bumper needs to be replaced and his car had his bonnet dented. The person and I immediately went to the police station  to make a police report. While waiting to make police report, he told the police that he will come back later As he had to do something.
I have waited and made my police report. Also submitted my claim to Honda with the Honda Insurance. Claim all approved and car should be ready next week.

However I was just told by Honda workshop that the person did not make a police report. So according to him the investigation is not complete until he makes a report.

I understand that if he don’t make a police report, I cannot claim his insurance and I will lose the NCB. I’ve had checked and his car has a valid insurance.

I have Dashcam evidence and also the photo of his car.

What are my options now?

With the evidence, you can still claim without affecting your NCB even though other party didn't make a police report. I was a victim of hit and run, but lucky my car dashcam caught it.

But have to do additional steps, where you need to go to the commissioner of oath to get some documents stamped. What you need to bring there is:

1. Your police report (with pictures etc)
2. The police decision that you are right, the other party wrong
3. IC
4. (if able) the other party's insurance details. Usually, anyone in the car insurance line can help you get the info.

Get the commisioner of oath to stamp, then bring it to Honda. Ask to see the person in charge of claims.
