Just want to share my recent experience:

1. On 12 June 2019, I accidentally damaged the side of my car while parking at a client's premise;
2. Contacted my insurance provider & they advised me to lodged a police report & sent the car to an approved service center;
3. Contacted my car service center and was told to bring the original police report, a copy of the car registration card, insurance cover note, my Identification card & driving license;
4. The service center staff handle the processing and proceed to do the necessary;
5. On 17 June, I got a notification via SMS that my claim has been approved; and
6. Yesterday, 25 June, I got a call from the Service Centre Staff that my car is ready for collection.

All in all, I am quite happy with how my insurance provider & the service center handle the claim process. Hope this information will be useful for future incidents.

self inflicted
how you wrote in the police report ya?

My observation was that the police were trying to ascertain whether anyone else is involved or did I broke any laws. Once they are satisfied with my description of the events and conclude it was my own doing, the report was written easily by them.
