Morning all,

Was at Harvey norman (Ampang Point) last night and had a chance to play with the Macbook in Gold version. Indeed it is a looker as well as very slim design. The weight is also light and IMO to be at the right size. However comparing with the macbook air (which is just next to it), the air got wide screen. Also the keyboard on the macbook is like soft touch keys as it does not travel deep like normal keyboard.

What is not cool is price .... even more expensive than my 2014 retina mbp sad.gif

Apple true luxury product . nothing more to say if you looking for luxury not performance  this is it.

For me, reliability is no 1. During my PC days, there will always be this or that issues, reformats, reinstalls etc etc, not with macs, so long as you update and yu are good to go. They aren't cheap, but its worthwhile stress free investment, IMHO.

Yes. I'm using Apple Magic Mouse with my macbook smile.gif

Using the apple own mouse will have the best experience, however its expensive unfortunately.

Yeah, the mouse really uncomfortable. But, you will get used to it after using for long period of time, I've been using it almost 4 years now hehe. As for the price, a bit expensive, for me you either can just go for Logitech MX in terms of ergonomic purpose, but you will lose macbook exclusive gestures smile.gif
*
Once you go woth the magic mouse, you won't go back... biggrin.gif

Its difficult to use back the standard PC mouse.... thats what I found. The user experience thingy wasn't there anymore.

Can go back. I bought a Magic Mouse before to use my MacBook pro last time. I switched back to Logitech gaming mouse after that.

the Magic Mouse to me is too flat. Too thin. Given my hand size, it is way too uncomfortable to use. wasted money on this purchase.
*
I'm loving mine. Fits my hand and needs for a proper mouse. As apple product goes, their prices are indeed very dear and for me, I must try it our before purchase as it is indeed an investment in the long run.

Hello anyone still owning 2015/2016 model still good buy?
I'm looking for spare set, I hadn't use before, unuse battery life can last how long, if the seller already mentioned 250 battery cycle. smile.gif
*
Generally, apple uses premium batteries in their notebooks. My rmbp 2014 model currently at 695 full [email protected] - 83% battery capacity still, which also translate to about 4hrs on battery usage. I have used dell, toshiba, fujitsu before the apple and their batteries degrade heavily reaching the 2 year old mark. Having said that, I would imagine that a 250cycle unit should have a lot of life still. Most importantly is the charger, check for signs of damage. The charger is expensive to replace and I would not recommend using 3rd party chargers for obvious reasons.

But just use for indoor only.

Feel like wanted to get MacBook 12",  don't have any experience for 12" before.
Should I wait after they launch new model or stick with current one.

Lightweight was great can carry anywhere.
*
Cost would be the deciding factor here. Like the previous and current mac book pros, there is a huge price difference when the current one came out. I'd probably wait for the latest model if there is one round the corner.

what are the must have accessories you all bought for your MB12? Let's the poisons begin!

The magic mouse 2 would be a useful accessory. A bit pricey but well worth it IMHO.

Did anyone buy Macbook from Lazada Apple Store? The price differences are huge, from RM900 to RM1400.
*
Well, if it is legit, why not. A lot of savings. For me most important is after sales service, repair, warranty etc. Getting an apple product is a huge investment.
