QUOTE(funnyface @ May 1 2015, 09:11 PM) Tried everything. Reset PRAM. Transparency reduction. Increase contrast. Every resolutions. In the end updated to 10.10.4 public preview, helps quite a bit especially for Safari. But still, the UX is not what I expected coming from MBA. Yosemite could use a lot of optimisation. But anyway, it is quite subjective, I have always been anal about UI responsiveness. |

QUOTE(funnyface @ May 2 2015, 02:19 AM) Singapore. When I first tested it in San Francisco during launch, it didn't feel like that. I wonder if the demo units were 1.3ghz units. Sigh, now it's really start to get on my nerve because otherwise it's a dream machine. Gonna check out the Apple Store later to see if their demo units behave the same. Going to complain or ask for a refund lol. |

QUOTE(MacDaNife @ May 11 2015, 05:49 PM) Got the 1.2 Ghz. For those wondering if it's laggy. It is certainly NOT. Keyboard is nice. Trackpad is good too. Once you get over sticker shock, this thing is a joy to use. No doubt that version two will be cheaper and will have USB C peripherals available in 6-8 months but the heart wants what it wants. Sure?I returned my 1.1 Ghz. Sigh..... Dunno still wanna give it another chance. |

Can give it a try google maps on safari?
My expectation isn't high at all. Just normal surfing, PDF and all. But the UI responsiveness is inconsistent. Sometimes laggy sometimes smooth. Dunno whether is my machine or I should lower my expectation even more. |

QUOTE(MacDaNife @ May 11 2015, 09:39 PM) Tried Google Maps on Safari (just for you). Was ok for me. Not as fast as my RD iMac certainly but certainly not unusable and plenty faster than my iPad certainly. This is a 1.2 Ghz machine though... Thanks bro Shall get the 1.2 one to try again. MacRumors peeps are reporting lagginess as well regardless of spec. Could be a matter of variance/QC issue. But yes, it was unusable for me especially Google Maps on Safari, or Chrome for the matter of fact. |

After testing a lot of different rMBs, rMBPs as well as talking to Apple Geniuses everywhere, I can safely say that the UI lag issue lies with Yosemite.
Yosemite in its current state is not good enough for me and there is no option to downgrade for the rMB. Such a pity as the hardware is almost perfect. Back to MBA with Mavericks it is. |

Whoever feels that it's sluggish. Get your hands on El Capitan now. Feels like a different machine altogether. Be warned, a lot of bugs.

Returned the basic model and got the 512 instead.
Just like to reiterate that it runs beautifully on El Capitan. Dream machine it is. Cant be happier. |
