Impress people with Plat cards. Plat cards are like normal Gold card these days though I must admit Maybank Plat and Signature hotline is very convenient for me. That's the only thing I love about my M2Cards Plat. The other additional benefits are pretty useless for me.

Should aim for higher like for e.g. Premier cards and Infinite.

They will transfer you to the normal cc department most of the time, even if you are asking a simple question, they will ask for your cc number or ic.
