yeah but still..according to the specs, i should be just fine with 28 gauge cables, right? as the total A draw is only 400uA......correct?

i need some reassurance before pulling out my trusty 20 year old soldering iron tongue.gif

Added on June 12, 2007, 10:09 pmalvin = oh yeah, especially when you're messing around with your car's electrical systems XD

don't want it to burn down, now, don't we?

i'm also thinking of adding a dimmer circuit using capacitors...hmmmmmmm pening. probably gonna ask electrican to help me solder it all up XD

current draw follow IF =20mA ler. so 20mA * 4 = 80mA.

IR (VR =5V) : 100uA << this is for reverse current / voltage.

heh mention bout solderin iron. damn tulan with bombman. kanasai ordered goot from him since last wednesday. said stock arrive the next day and it turns out he's gonna send it out tomoro only. tats hopefully he sends it out. tnsmch

what dimmer circuit? mari pass me schematic i manufacture a PCB for you.
*
goddamn i need an instructable on drawing up schematics LOL!!!!

luckily i didn't order them LEDs from him doh.gif

im not sure what caps i will need, the dimmer circuit has to work after the current has been switched off. kinda like how you see those interior lights on a beemer goes off about 3 seconds after closing the door tongue.gif *ahem*

schematic belum draw yet la tongue.gif still ordering parts and see how it goes 1st. anybody got lubang for luxeon star IIIs?? philips duwan to choi my enquiries from last week :S

a rough sketch of how the wires will go. i don't know where to splice in the caps, and what caps to get to power the LEDs for a couple of seconds after the circuit has been switched off.... doh.gif

you dont connect your LEDs in that way
one burn, no light will come out, connect it parallel(you need resistors, else it will burn the LED)

anyways, if you want to delay the turn off of the circuitry, you cant just dump the cap in itu saja, its not so easy

try this

puta - thanks! but that also means TONS of wires going in and out of my cabin light module sweat.gif

beachboy banyak pro wor....
think resister u need 1k cukup liao for each LED

also, if u wire it like shwon in the diagram, it won't be as bright...
actually, it won't be bright at all

hmmmmmmm i ordered 130000 mcd LEDs tongue.gif min voltage of 2.5V so it still should work.

QUOTE(egiewan @ Jun 13 2007, 12:02 AM)
Wah kev, you wiring man part time ka? Can help me rewire my room? Turn on fan only but one shot all the lights also open together doh.gif  doh.gif Haha joking laaa...the 'real' wiring man coming tomorrow. Haihhh...sleep with air cond only. Air feels so dry cry.gif

tarak - i mau bikin new style of cabin lights brows.gif brows.gif

another question - do i need a driver or buckpuck to run them from the festoon connectors?

gua mau bikin ini macam XD

so if i tap from the interior light, in parallel, wouldn't there be eight strands of 28 gauge wires that i need to hide in the roof? unsure.gif i'm doing it for 4 pillars, plus the whole circuit needs to power another festoon bulb as well sweat.gif

circuit board i can use at each individual locations wink.gif that is to house the caps and resistors behind the pillar panels. XD

i can do like that, minus that IC - don't need PWM for my lights laugh.gif

no need, drill holes in the pillar plastic housing (because i need to take them out to take off the roof for soundproofing and the wiring), then just slot the LEDs and somehow get some fiber to create a shroud due to the light leakage. the rest all okay and planned liao, just the wiring part made me bingung KAO KAO!! @_@

using white. cant see jack shit with amber doh.gif my dome light damn dim, and its located at the front, which does not help if you lighter fell behind your seat, while you're trying to light a ciggie at 120km/h laugh.gif

effect looks cool too, but i'm using a single bright LED for each pillar. hopefully its not too bright doh.gif

got such thing as LED holders? tongue.gif i plan to point them across the ceiling as they will naturally diffuse thataway. either that or probably i'll have to skim/shave the tops of the LEDs.... oh well, gotta try on the circuits 1st and need to order some extra LEDs tim.

actually, nahh, LED holders only hold the diode flush to the surface. im thinking of drilling to an angle - worse comes to worst, i'll just cut a slice out of em panels then cover up with fiber + respray the whole thing doh.gif

oh yeah, i'll be using 10mm LEDs, so they would 'hold' quite well using silicone or something.

can always bounce them off or shave 'em heads tongue.gif the original design uses 10deg viewing angle, same as the 5mm regular LEDs that you get, bounced off the roof, it creates a nice dispersion effect. planning to do that, but with brighter LEDs biggrin.gif
