my observation while driving through smart tunnel today -

1) damn blue seven bumpy roads! i don't see myself paying more than RM1 for that sort of ride. even the free federal highway is 1000% smoother than any of the tunnels

2) the corners do not seem sharp until you take them above 80km/h. i guess a 60km/h is a good speed limit although i'd still rather take the regular way to jalan bukit bintang.

3) smart tunnel entrances have dangerous, blind, single-lane corners. expect a number of accidents.

4) going faster than the speed limit eases the bumpiness of the road

5) if you have VTEC, VANOS, MIVEC, DVVT, VVTi, bla blabla, the tunnel is a godsend when your camshafts 'switch'

6) if you're driving a V8 or V10 or V12, you can silence those ricer wannabes from 2kms away providing your engine has a cat-back exhaust

7) surprisingly i did not see a rempit convoy.......

8) the roads are too damn bumpy, samy!

Err.. why the oil pump?
Eh.. cuz since cooling of transmission oil separated from being cooled by the radiator, thus an extra oil pump required? what am i talking here.. sweat.gif suddenly oil pump when it is cooled by water? enlightened me please mahaguru notworthy.gif

*
tranny oil is always contained in the box, there fore if you want the oil to circulate, have to use oil pump after the cooler to provide backpressure or suction. oil pump cannot be placed before the cooler unless you want the system to be overpressurized, which is possible depending on the system's engineering.

same goes for turboes that are rear mounted or bakes with brake fluid coolers like on the GT-R 34. stock turboes at the header does not need an oil pump due to the fact that the oil channels are already intergrated into the block + turbo housing, therefore you only use back the stock oil pump in your engine oil sump. btw, changing to a better ATF fluid will hep you for now if you feel the gearbox jerkiness already.

lol
tranny where got cooling system bang.................
tranny using 50w 60 oil lah doh.gif

to the standstill part - yes

BUT

oil temps will go down as long as you dont just stop after a high speed run. furthermore, even if you stop, your standard gearbox oil will still be hotter compared to a tranny with an oil cooler. this is because the heat is already dissipated while your're driving mah.

Added on May 23, 2007, 9:32 pmwhich means to say, most stock trannies are not cooled at all. if you're going to install an oil cooler for the tranny, you must get an oil pump to circulate the tranny oil also biggrin.gif

clearer now? biggrin.gif tongue.gif i not can TT sometime next week hahaha
