Thanks! That's what they told me but the person in charge is on leave .

always happen when you buy from places like giant and cold storage. happened to me once and i had to go to umobile at times sq. too bad they don't allow self registration.

you could try other giant store with your sim and receipt.

Does it mean I can actually get the sim first and register at their centre ?
I don't mind going to the UM centre to register. The person in charged is on leave until who knows when.
*
yes, you can register at umobile centres, but there are not many locations even in kl.

I actually helped someone register a Umobile prepaid account. But this is 1 year ago if I'm not mistaken. Upon trying to activate the account, they will ask every personal details which is very easy(in USSD menu). The hard part is they wanted you to enter a dealer activation code. I found it at the back of the prepaid display case, like 4-5 numbers only, and then thats it.

do you remember the number?

now they don't share 2g with maxis any more, right?
*
they still do. i have an overseas sim that roams on digi and umobile. when i put the sim into an old nokia and scan, i cannot not see umobile in the operator list. this means umobile is still piggybacking on some other operator.

too bad if you have 3 different mobile numbers then you have to sign up 3 different lazada accounts for each reloads.

can you not change the number when you want to reload?

Switch to postpaid and these credit can be your "advance payment". Up until now, there's no way to transfer credit nor extend validity.
*
capped at rm100. from tnc:

If you are an existing U Mobile prepaid customer and you wish to switch to a postpaid plan, you may retain your phone number. Any remaining SMS, voice minutes or data allowance to which you are entitled under the previous prepaid plan will be forfeited and any content subscription services which are part of your previous prepaid plan will be automatically terminated. However, any credit remaining may be carried over to your new postpaid plan up to a maximum value of RM100 to offset bill payment. Any credit balance exceeding the sum of RM100 will be automatically forfeited.

just got myself a umobile prepaid sim card from 7-11, failed activate through USSID, now what should I do ?
*
you need pin to activate. 7-11 should have activated it for you. go back to the 7-11 to get it activated, or visit one of the umobile centres.

The shopback will be deposited into bank account, after a period of time (75 days for Lazada last I checked).

RM10 you can get for every purchase. The additional RM5+RM5 is signup/referral bonus that you can only get first time.

Even at only RM10 its 40% cashback though. That's what I'm using for my reloads.
*
need to reload soon. i understand the rm5+rm5 signup/refereal bonus, but can you please explain again how and where does the rm10 come from? is there a min or max purchase amount?

That's the shopback specific cashback on purchases above RM25 (I think now is RM20). Only if you buy from lazada mobile app (on desktop you'll get a percentage based rebate, I think 10%).
*
thanks.

poked around shopback website the whole night. found out you can only withdraw when your accumulated cashback reaches rm10. since you get rm2 cashback from a rm20 reload, you need to make a total of 5 reloads before your virtual cash turn into real cash. in total, spend rm100 and get rm10 cashback plus rm5+rm5 signup/referal bonus. so, the max cashback rate is 20%.

*
someone said mnp to umobile is totally free. thumbup.gif
read the thread "GUIDE: Free SIM Cards with or without Credit"
sim is free. no stamp duty, but it is for prepaid i think.

yours has stamp duty, so sounds like postpaid smile.gif

now replaced with rm10/day "unlimited" roaming... this could be a better option depending on how it is used.
*
auto data roaming biz is too lucrative and umobile has learned well from celcom.

everytime your phone scan and connect to a roaming network, some packets will be exchanged during the handshake and you will be slapped with rm10 for the day.

just that umobile's rm10 is cheaper than celcom's rm38 smile.gif

that is my alternate plan previously if cannot change to old plan which give 2x validity
due to my previous hotlink is on #365, which can stay active for 180days for RM30... so i opt to MNP to umobile after seeing the 2x validity, sometime go out sports can use biggrin.gif

but what is the advantage of power prepaid over old plan?  hmm.gif  hmm.gif the website seems confusing
