Anyone around Taman Connaught having issues with 3G? Seems like it's only connecting at 2G since morning.

QUOTE(fishmango @ Jun 30 2015, 07:12 PM) hi sifus, U Mobile uses its own network unless there is no U Mobile coverage then it roams to Maxis' network but then there's a catch as Maxis only allows U Mobile to roam at about 1,300+ network tower for 3G which I suspect these are also located at areas where it is underutilized, other towers are 2G only which I guess for congested areas, Maxis will only allow 2G.I currently using Maxis. Maxis 3g coverage still ok in my area. Thinking of mnp to U mobile to save some cost. Since U mobile using maxis 3G line, will I receive the 3G signal strength same as maxis? thks In short, Maxis allows U Mobile to roam-in for: 2G = Nationwide 3G = At selected 1,300+ network towers |

Does U Mobile have any long validity prepaid plan? There's a number I would like to keep but if there are no suitable plans then I'll have to port out to another telco that has a long validity plan.

Anyone got experience MNP out from U Mobile to other telco? How long does it take?
Mine has been a day already and still no news from U Mobile about request to port out but already got SMS from new telco saying that now have to wait for U Mobile to confirm and give the green light. |

QUOTE(dgboy @ Feb 5 2016, 11:17 PM) Mine took 2.5 days and one rejection and re-submission recently. I think there were some technical issues on UM side. QUOTE(chuahcs79 @ Feb 6 2016, 12:38 AM) Have to reply any SMS from U Mobile to complete the port out? |

I guess U Mobile will need another few years to be up there with the other big 3, especially after the spectrum reallocation.

Probably their network unable to support a sudden spike in users causing congestion during festive seasons.

The good thing about U Mobile is they never step down from a challenge, when a competitor announces something good, U Mobile replies really fast keeping the telco war alive.

QUOTE(stephantsen @ May 20 2016, 12:27 PM) It should follow existing call rates. The benefits of WiFi Calling is that when the phone does not have network coverage or is having poor signal, it can utilize WiFi (an Internet connection) to make the call like VoIP style.Scenario that benefits from this the most is new residential/work area that is not under their network coverage yet due to no towers/antennas setup but have wired broadband, the phone can then utilize the Internet connection to make/receive calls. QUOTE(prosibu @ May 20 2016, 04:13 PM) Tat is y i state digi (or MC) only get 4th... Some telcos do charge "international call rates" if WiFi Calling is made out of the country. It all depends on the telco. However, yes telcos who implement auto roaming charges will lose out revenue, like MaxisOne World roaming plan which automatically charges RM38/day the moment you do something while roaming be it call, SMS or data. And vowifi will cause telco revenue drop as roaming charges will drop due to user all airplane mode when oversea = no surprise data charge anymore... |
