i want to get a u-mobile prepaid. went to their site but got confused on the features....can pls enlighten. I am just looking for a prepaid as backup. with data. use only once a week. light.

1) Power prepaid - this their only plan?
2) the data disables every 10days? need to top-up RM10 to use again? so effectively RM30 for month?
3) to get this prepaid, can just go to 7-11 buy the pack or need to U-mobile center to sign up?

2. u topup rm30 get 1month validity + 1gb, u topup rm10 1week validity and 1gb for a week, and need topup again to use that free 1gb
3. any kedai got umobile pack can register

1) after buying and activating Power sim you can switch to previous plan which has no free data but 2x validity.

If never use the credits....how long will the last? Or carried forward?

Saw the packs in 7-11...safe to register there? I mean we have to give copy of ic and info right.

Registered prepaid..will umobile send us any offers via mail to registered address?

EDIT: how about getting this prepaid and subscribe for the UMI20...how will not topping up the prepaid affects the UMI data?

Is not switch, is add on the umi means you will get 1GB (min top up rm10) as long as your line is active + UMI data for 1 month. Once you subscribe, the data will last for a month even though your line is not active (can receive but cannot make call). If you have lot of credit and want to fully utilise, you need to top up min rm5 to make the line active so that the UMI can be renew automatically.

anyone know if you can get a better deal using the u.com.my web site and using credit card. I think the cimb plat cashback gives good cash back but is u.com.my considered an online transaction to get the cashback?

From there click to qoo10 (new browser window/tab will open, MUST buy in that browser/tab. Will have instructions for you).

From qoo10 you can buy reload at face value using credit card. I use CIMB Cash Rebate (5% rebate).

Then because buying through shopback, I get another 10% rebate to shopback, which can (once reach RM10 total) be withdrawn to my bank account.

Also qoo10 got their own points system but I don't have enough to use that for anything yet.

For less hassle, look for CnY Garage for example, but that one is by bank transfer not CC. He'll give discount for reloads.
