Wow that is slow. Even my port in from Celcom was faster. I guess Celcom wasted no time in getting rid of me biggrin.gif

I'm currently in SG. Can read back my previous story, basically the conversion took too long so Mon and Tues I paid RM10 each for data (confirmed by message to my phone). Today I checked, already on P70, and some of my data been used up, so I think during the second half of the day it used the P70 data.

Anyway will complain to U when I get back, their delay cost me RM20.
*
Good to know that. I have read a complaint on their fb from this fella having problems using the service in Thailand. I guess he did not properly activated international roaming before he left

I would like to share my bad experience with Umobile for 3 different case within 1 month after port in into UMobile.

1st regarding the Umobile are late active after port out from digi, i took 2 hours before porting to umobile.

2nd regarding the line, they line in sarawak are always local roaming which are insecure whereby drop call are too frequently.

3rd The data line in 3G are slow like a turtle. and keep on disconnect and reconnect.

My advice, those stay in Sarawak rural area such as sibu, sarikei and other rural area... please take your own risk using a unstable line.
*
Which part are you staying? I work in Bintulu. Hometown in Sarikei. Both are ok to me. The line is a bit low at my hometown in Sarikei but still usable.
Anyways they are still using Maxis infra and towers in Sarawak. But they have signed an agreement with Sacofa (a state govt company which owns all the towers in the state) to expand their coverage and introduce 4G. It should be available in stages

Is there an easier way to activate international roaming without depositing anything?

I've been a customer for >6 months and received the SMS to activate my roaming by replying Yes to it but it did not activate. So I called 1318, the automated system is not able to activated my roaming.

It asks me to provide 2 or 3 months of my bill, a photocopy of my passport and deposit money to it.

I thought customers with a good track record of >6 months get to activate it automatically?

You can set up AutoDebit with them. I emailed them my AutoDebit form in the morning. A couple of hours after that they replied saying it was accepted. I then called their CS to activate IR. Done

lol..... ride motor to tower.. so much win for this.
*
Sarawak is big. But populated area is small. I know the location of all the towers at my area. My hometown was so small that during the TMTOUCH era they only needed one tower to cover the whole area.

so may i know telco tower actually is build by telco themselves or company like edotco sacofa to build for them?
*
Depends. They will survey first I guess, which one is more economical. Nowadays it is difficult for them to just bolt their transmitters on top of shophouses as people will complaint. During yesteryears that was their favourite method. If they use edotco/sacofa they don't have to deal with regulations/land lease etc. They just need to pay those companies and come to the site and install their infra

how to request them build transmitter in my area?
*
You cannot really request. You just tell them about your problem and they will investigate. Ony they can decide if it is worth to build one in your area

Just landed in Sydney. Switched my phone on. Selected Telstra as my telco, and turned on data roaming. Straightaway I have data. Very convenient. I will not bw leaving U Mobile if they continue to have this

wao so fast in sydney  cry.gif why mine so slow d

ur roaming in 4g ?

P70 OR P50 ?

P70 here. Received the message from them asking to turn off 4G while I'm here to ensure constant connectivity. I guess the agreement does not include 4G. But speed with H+ is good enough
