Hey girls,

I am diagnosed with this condition called PCOS, and recently because of it, I have my period for way too long and shows no sign of stopping. I did not want to go to my regular gynae at Damai Service Hospital because the only thing the doctor knows what to tell me is to have surgery to get rid of it, I do not want to opt for surgery, at least not for now.

Please do recommend a good and affordable gynae for me, preferably in KL or Shah Alam area. Your help is very much appreciated! Thank you! smile.gif

I've a couple of friends with PCOS. I have mild endo. My gynae was Dr tang BN in Ramsay Sime Darby. She removed the cyst on my ovary in 2012.

She's lovely. Only problem was that it's become extremely difficult to book an appointment with her these days. As such I've switched to another doctor, a male gynae, Dr Lee Say Fatt. A very nice man, and extremely funny. Professional, too.

Straight up says- you don't need an annual pap smear if you're under 40. Tells it straight to you, no games, no hidden costs.

I hear Dr Siti is really popular too. But again, it's increasingly difficult to get an appointment in with her as well. Otherwise, Dr Christina seems okay as well.

PCOS needs treatment la.YOu'll have trouble conceiving if you want to start a family later on.

Likely you'll be put on birth control to regulate your hormones and your period. When you want to conceive the doctor will advice you on how to adjust or stop the pills.

Go see a gynae and stop playing around if you've ANY issues with your reproductive system.

here's a list of female gynae, you can find the price and other info here

http://www.lookp.com/blog/female-gynae-in-kl-selangor

If price is a concern, can try Dr Madhu (number 4 in the list)

Good luck!

Hi. Thank you for the link.
Do you yourself have experience with Dr. Madhu?
How much does she charge averagely per visit? As there is no info about the price in the website.

Sorry but I personally didn't engage her, but from what we heard, her fee is relatively low. In fact, you can find her on Facebook here:

In fact i have different view to Dr. Saw.
Last couple of years i went for pap-smear test. Dr Diagnosed that my uterus was infected. Besides, my eggs were too small that not able to fertilize every month, which cause that I couldn't conceive after trying for 2 years. He help me clean up the virus and advise me to try on a fertilize jap. The jap only cost me RM150/ jap and with 1 try, I was pregnant with my first daughter. After 3 years, i was desperate to have another baby, so i went for the same jap again. This time were not as lucky as before, but again i manage to conceived after 4th jap + 1 extra of release eggs. (Total 5 jap cost around RM1,000). And i were having twin babies in this pregnancy.

To me, he is caring, details and give good consultation. Every of my visit, he will spend at least 30min - 1 hour session with me. His consultation fees only RM100 per time (Consultation + scan). It is an affordable price in KL. I called few clinic and their min fees is around RM80-100 for consultation + RM50 for scan.

Besides, learning from my sisters, their gyne normally just spend approximately 10min and just ask condition without scanning. (Because too many patient waiting).

However, to be fair, his medication fees is quite pricey. But you always can tell him to prescribe for pharmacy purchase. (This is what i did)

So, i would highly recommend DR. Saw if you ask me. In fact, i have recommended quite numbers of people there included my sister who also successful conceived after few visit.
