Mazda's iStop still uses battery to fire the spark plug to ignite the fuel in the selected cylinder.

The difference is that it does not use the starter like other carmakers. Using the starter will suck more battery juice compare to just firing just one spark plug.

MF batteries are wet batteries as well, you can top up water at the end of it's life cycle to prolong it's life slightly. The difference between MF and regular wet batteries is that the water inside a MF battery doesn't reduce as rapidly. When u buy a regular MF battery from the shop, they are usually wet ones not dry ones.

Dry batteries has no water inside.

If and only if the Mazda2 sales overwhelms the thai production lines. And even then, don't expect a massive price drop like Mazda3 CKD, as cars imported from thai are already subjected to lower taxes due to AFTA (Mazda3 CBU was from Japan, which is not part of AFTA).

The old Mazda2 was never CKD-ed here.

Quick question for Mazda2 owners: Does the sport button (The one behind the gearknob) switches off the 6th gear?

Put another way, when in Sports mode, can the car still shift into 6th gear?

It Juz helps to stay at existing gear longer. U will feel it's a bit smoother n lighter.
*
Hi thanks. Yep I know it holds rev longer, I was just wondering if it also switches off the 6th gear like an O/D off button.

You can ask those speed over 180 on sport mode, which gear are they driving.
*
Hi, no need to speed til 180kmh. Just cruise along at 100kmh in normal mode, then switch on sport mode.

If the transmission downshifts to 5th gear, and does not upshift back to 6th even with very light throttle (or using the paddle shifter), that means the 6th gear has been locked out.

Nobody has an answer?

Let me try this tomorrow.

Edit: Oh wait, you mean with auto-transmission on. That's the thing, usually I have sports mode + manual transmission together.

Sports mode + auto-transmission will just rev the car till 4000rpm which I think is overkill. Usually I would switch gear only after 2000rpm (switching on sports mode would be pointless if changing before 2000rpm), but before touching 4000, usually.
*
Hi thanks.

So the 6th gear is not locked out in Sports mode? (either in D or manual mode)

Funny. Why relate handling to bodyroll?

I didn't say God car handling is better. I said it's bodyroll Controll is better than M2. Probably due to its softer Suspension. M2's suspension is stiff.
*
Would like to understand more. Since godcar suspension is softer and M2 is stiffer, why godcar has better bodyroll control?

It might not be related, but one of the chief complaints about the new MX5 was too much bodyroll. A Mazda characteristic?

Difficult to explain. But thts what I experienced sitting in godcar twice as a passenger, driver corner freaking fast but I felt damn steady behind.

Yes maybe a mazda thingy. Coz I tried mazda3(damn power) but same symptom as m2
*
Hmm I think I understand what you meant.

It's hard to explain in a few sentences....it's mainly due the Mazda2 subjecting it's occupants to more G-force, because the suspension loads up faster during hard cornering. It will be uncomfortable for rear passengers for sure, but it also means the car puts grip down better.

Thanks for the info. I'm actually just wanted to register my car as in 2016, so let's say future want to sell, I can said it's 2016 car although not 2016 model.

What is the new changes for 2016 model ? Most likely I cant wait till march/april  sweat.gif
*
When selling, the buyer/used car dealer/bank will only consider the MANUFACTURE YEAR, not the register year.

I believe the hole near fog lamp is the sensor. I think you can try to look for a replacement online, be it original or oem. Just depends on your cost. Then give it to a car repair shop to install for you. The main issue for me is the sensor part, whether they stole only the cover or including the wiring inside. That you need to check.
