Have a Mazda 2 (sedan, not a hatchy).

Currently pending repairs (purely cosmetic - the car drives absolutely fine) and the workshop that is doing the repairs offer to makan(take-up) the car for a certain amount as spare parts are too far and few (due to the pandemic, parts shortage).

The amount they are offering is BELOW the market value, as they account for the Replacement Parts which are currently unavailable.

Should I hold it out for the spare parts to sell at better second-hand rate later(when all the repairs are done, in what they estimate, 1 year from now?), or accept their current offer?

The variance of their offer and that of the current market is give or take, roughly 10K.

After repair, probably not in use as we have recently bought its replacement(?).

Bought a replacement because they (workshop) estimate 1 year to repair cry.gif

Additional info for context:
The car has been in workshop for almost half a year already (and still need to wait ONE MORE YEAR to complete the repair).
Currently use Grab - expensive, feels like i'm paying the car installment for them laugh.gif

Just curious to know ah, what is the issue or part that requires so long for parts to arrive or repairing?

Taillight shell(s), rear sensor & some small parts missing (caps/cover/screws etc) and boot lid, re-spraying works, like I mentioned, car can jalan but these cosmetics no spare/replacement parts atm so car is stuck with workshop

Oh in this case, I thought can just order the parts first when we just continue to drive the car, don't have to keep your car at workshop.
In my opinion, if you no longer need the car, just take the car and do a valuation with Carsome or Carro, I'm sure the value will be much better than workshop, those small issues are not really the deal breaker when selling the car

Yea, that does make sense, thanks for the suggestion and input thumbsup.gif
