I booked on 1st of April. How about yours ?

i booked since last year.
my car is already ready to collect this week.
waited for 5months

5 months !!!! Seriously!!!
Did the SA told why it takes so long ?

I believe the average waiting time is more than 2 months.

Where did you book your car? Did you check other branches?
They might have stock, as I recalled, there was a shipment last two months ago, and that's when I got my car.
Not sure if there is any shipment last month or coming weeks.


And I thought my wait was long enough...

Im unexpected need to wait for so long. The SA told me that going to have shipment in April. He told most probably can get in end of April but until now no update .

The waiting time is due to the backlogs from the tax free period last year. Given that Mazda 2 is CBU, well, the stocks are quite limited.

You can maintain your booking while you check with other branches.
You should obtain a full refund if you cancel your booking.
Chances are better if only the other branches have ready stock, and by ready stock, the car is sitting in the dealership ready for JPJ registration.

At the moment, since your agent said there is a shipment this month, instead of going through all the trouble, you should chase your agent for status.

The SA told that my booking have already the log number , the car is already in Malaysia awaiting for installing all the accessories . But he cannot confirm when is it the car can be released.

I feel a bit weird. Is it truth ?

I cannot say whether it is true or otherwise, but it does sound very weird.
Did you request for any additional accessories?


Based on my experience, the car will arrive to port, and will be pending for customs clearance, that may take up to 2 weeks or more, and maybe an additional week for PUSPAKOM clearance.
Once the cars is in port, car will be either assigned via the waiting list (according to my SA), or the SA should be able to do some 'magic' and get a car assigned for you.
Once the car is assigned, he/she should be able to notify you of the chassis number, and engine number.


As the Mazda 2 is CBU, there should not be any installation of accessories at least to my knowledge, unless the accessories are of add-ons, or additional items that your SA is giving you, or additional accessories that are not part of the package, which you have requested your SA to install for you.


Then again, I purchase the car from Bermaz HQ in PJ, so, the car arrived through Port Klang, your experience may vary depending on your location.

My SA told me same model as Malaysia but different spec for each country. Sadly Malaysia always get the lowest spec as our import duty is high. Too bad...

Not lowest spec mind you. High spec ( leather seats/wrapping etc ), but removed many 'high-tech' thing.
