This will be a 50 50 answer.

Cost:

1) Free service (Labour + parts) for your first 60,000km / 5 years. So you get to save some $$ here.

2) After your free service, basic service of engine oil + filter + labour will be about RM300+-

3) Car problem, there are a few common issues:
                a) there is this kruk kruk / knocking sound. Actual caused can be anything from steering wheel / lower arm / strut bearing. No 100% solution as of now

                b) gearbox issue. Still relatively a small group of members experienced this. See luck I suppose.

                c) Battery: i-stop battery costs around RM400~RM500. Average lifespan around 18 months +-
**NO, you cannot use other battery other than Q85 and above that is i-stop compatible**

4) As mentioned, RV is very low.
But, if the above issues doesn't concern you & you like a small car that is good for speeding + great cornering feel, then Mazda 2 MIGHT suit you tongue.gif

Had a similar 'Gearbox issue', not sure yet, still checking tho.

Anyway, it started just after my last free services (3 years), 2 weeks after the last services, when ever I shifted to gear 'Reverse' or 'Drive' there's a knocking sound. It does not occur in 'Park' or 'Neutral' gear, and the sounds basically stops whenever I drive or when the car started moving.

Sent to Mazda, they informed and quote me the following:-
1. To get clear check, gearbox need to be taken out (Labor cost alone Rm750-850)
2. They said it's either torque converter problem (replacement cost RM4K-4.3K) or flywheel (RM650)

Which means, it could be either RM1.4K or close to RM5K of repair.

Anyone faced similar issue? I have check in some forum and in car talk community, there are some who faced similar issue (but not the new skyactiv), most would say either the loose heat shield or the belt tensioner problem only.

hi guys, my free services going to end soon. Is the maintenance price acceptable in mazda SC (just regular brake oil /engine oil and labour)? Or i can find any other workshop to service .Because it seems the skyactive using customized battery, is this available in normal workshop?

Huh? Your normal service got nothing to do with the battery also.

Do take note: After your Free Service ends, you MAY opt to service at outside workshop, but in MIGHT affect your warranty
**[Coz car warranty ends at 100,000km / 3 years (5 years if you got your car in 2017) ]

Oh, i mean if i found a good workshop for normal services, when the battery died (which can last 1 year or longer) i can send to the same workshop if they able to provide i-stop supported battery.

Battery can change outside. Doesn't affect the car's warranty.

My car already 3 years. Had experience this issue about 5 times only throughout these years.

Because it doesn't happened every time, can't replicate the issue when at SC. For now i just cross fingers its just a random incident

wow, it just happen for me, and I got worried when they mentioned it could be gearbox problem. So you never went and repair it?

I checked with few of my friends (who knows a bit more about engine and cars then me) they said it still driveable and not too serious, (if i don't mind the squeaky or the knocking sound when ever I switch gear to reverse park)

Wooo nice body kit. Where do you get that with red lining? Mine came with grey color no lining..

Anyway i got my car for about 6 days and i went to sodok some small pile of stone ady 😭😭😭 got some nasty scratches below the grey body kit.. planned to disemble it and send for repaint job. Does anyone know is it possible to DIY dissemble the body kit and assemble it again??

Help plizz 😭

Can. This is roughly the same type of clip used on our car. Abit tricky to unscrew it though.

Anyway, if you do break the clips, can always go buy some replacements. Don't think it's expensive but I'm not sure :/
