Hi, my mazda 2 just about to change battery for the 1st time.

1. Is there any concern if to replace a Q85/115D23L battery with a conventional 55D23L battery which is much cheaper? Will it end up cause any affect on the system or alternator?

2. As of SC, replacement for a Q85 Delkhor plus reset system, cause RM540. Outside shop replace a Q85 Delkhor only RM485 with saying no reset needed. Is reset necessary with will cost RM60 at SC?

3. Outside shop introduce me MA75D23L Exide to replace Q85 and not to activate iStop. Is this make sense?
*
1. Got risk the battery (55D23L) will leak within a year. Happened to some other members. When that happens, the leakage corroded the engine bay compartment. Good luck with claiming warranty then.

2. Reset is subjective. Mine was window power up/down stopped working. Just needed to hold the power up/down button for like 20sec to reset it.

3. Where is your location? If Klang Valley, just google "Batt Ranger Enterprise". This shop Q85 used to be Rm450 or less, but recently price adjusted, not sure how much is it now. More importantly, they know how to reset your car FOC. Many members changed battery there before.

Hmmm. 100k service at RM400? Last time i went to SC, they mentioned 100k service is at RM1100++, need to change spark plug and other stuffs.

Or i salah dengar? At what interval do we replace the spark plugs? Also, how about the timing chain maintenance?
*
Yes, 100k service will be above RM1000. Spark plug alone costs rm400+

Anyway, timing chain & spark plug will see the condition during the 100k service. Its an "Optional" matter, not a Must.

Wana save $$, ownself get the original spare parts at outside then bring to sc/mechanic and pay labour fees only smile.gif

I am interested in Mazda 2 HB and been looking around (Klang Valley) but seems no stock available. Not sure if anyone here can advise/recommend any salesman / sales office that might have stock?

Or should I wait for next year but since it is imported car not sure how the import duty will impact the price later on...

Same case here, is there any admin here can help us process the application?
*
QUOTE(Glystzer @ Nov 13 2018, 04:30 PM)
Admin is pretty active on FB in fact. I've been seeing his commends on some posts in Mazda Owner Group Sharing yesterday.
I thought the google form and photos of our car are to filter out those non Mazda 2 owner and thus speeding up the request approval.
*
same with me

i already fill up the google form and DM the admin required document 3 weeks ago

until now still did not approve

apparently only 1 admin is doing this member verification

Luckily I manage to find one SC that can do part replacement on weekends.

Will wait and see if the *kruk kruk* sound returns after doing these part replacements. Warranty 6 months only :/

Rather buy a used unit and safe the time and money (a lot). Mazda is a low RV brand anyway but maintenance not as $ as conti.

This will be a 50 50 answer.

Cost:

1) Free service (Labour + parts) for your first 60,000km / 5 years. So you get to save some $$ here.

2) After your free service, basic service of engine oil + filter + labour will be about RM300+-

3) Car problem, there are a few common issues:
a) there is this kruk kruk / knocking sound. Actual caused can be anything from steering wheel / lower arm / strut bearing. No 100% solution as of now

b) gearbox issue. Still relatively a small group of members experienced this. See luck I suppose.

c) Battery: i-stop battery costs around RM400~RM500. Average lifespan around 18 months +-
**NO, you cannot use other battery other than Q85 and above that is i-stop compatible**

4) As mentioned, RV is very low.

But, if the above issues doesn't concern you & you like a small car that is good for speeding + great cornering feel, then Mazda 2 MIGHT suit you tongue.gif
