Sent my car to HQ for my 40k service. When I send my car the mileage is 40046 and when I get back my car is 400133. Almost 100km increase and half tank petrol gone. Really? I do ask them to check my Tyre sound but do they need to drive 100 for testing?? I'm so pissed. I feel like they used for personal purpose

Hi everyone,

So I've been driving the M2 GVC for about a month, one thing I notice about this car is that the pickup is sluggish when accelerating from standstil eg. stopping to turn into a road, feels like it's taking quite some time for the car to pick up speed. Sometimes when trying to turn a road, by the time I am parallel with the road the car behind me is already so close.

One other instance is when trying to ascend on steep incline ( ~20° to 30°) e.g. entering multilevel car park, the car seems to struggle to pick up speed. When I depress the fuel pedal a little harder then only it will rush forward in a not so smooth way...

Just wondering what could be done about this?

i have the same problem as yours. still looking for solution. anyone manage to resolve this kindly please share.

I'm no car guy. Could it be related to the weak tensioner?

Scenario 1: going up a slope. Light pedal from ground to uphill. So much stress coming from the engine. Have to press pedal harder/downshift forcibly and the gearshift isn't smooth. Sudden rise in torque

Scenario 2: going up the same slope. Same scenario but with faulty tensioner. With light pedal the faulty tensioner will start vibrating and producing high pitched rattling sound. Have to downshift in order to release the tensioner hence the sound gone

I'm saying the tensioner is weak cause it's changed once few months back but now it starts to show symptoms again (initial symptoms before my ex-tensioner started to turn faulty)

exactly. some time i press pedal too hard and the car accelerate nearly bang the car infront shakehead.gif

Had a similar 'Gearbox issue', not sure yet, still checking tho.

Anyway, it started just after my last free services (3 years), 2 weeks after the last services, when ever I shifted to gear 'Reverse' or 'Drive' there's a knocking sound. It does not occur in 'Park' or 'Neutral' gear, and the sounds basically stops whenever I drive or when the car started moving.

Sent to Mazda, they informed and quote me the following:-
1. To get clear check, gearbox need to be taken out (Labor cost alone Rm750-850)
2. They said it's either torque converter problem (replacement cost RM4K-4.3K) or flywheel (RM650)

Which means, it could be either RM1.4K or close to RM5K of repair.

Anyone faced similar issue? I have check in some forum and in car talk community, there are some who faced similar issue (but not the new skyactiv), most would say either the loose heat shield or the belt tensioner problem only.

hi guys may i know what kind of "gearbox problem" are you guys referring to? my car is having some issue that concern me. Sometimes when i drive up-hill or going up a slope my car will have 'tick tick sound' when shifting gear (gear 5 to 6- speed around 70+) and when the sound happens, the car is jerking, like it cannot change to next gear and no power. i've manage to record the sound, you can listen at here at 1~5secs , sent to SC and they simply said, cannot test the problem sad.gif but it does happen and shown them the noise i recorded but they insist said no problem.

and will your car rpm down to like 500 when you stop ur car in D mode (like waiting traffic/ reversing your car in slow speed) and the car vibrate very hard? mine will and its so darn annoying, SC said that's normal.............. shakehead.gif shakehead.gif

so wanted to sell off this car bfore big problem comes....

Mine is 2015 batch, halogen version. Had the similar situation (three times this I had encountered, car jerked once, rpm dropped and TSC+engine signs lit while driving starting early 2018), the signs went off and car back to normal once engine restarted. Went to my regular local dealer SC in Kuala Terengganu, only told no big deal, they just overwrite the error codes. Since I heard this could be a cronic issue from other M2 members, decided to make an appointment with Bermaz PJ (attended by Mr Kumar) for thorough check-up, ended gearbox issue and have it replaced within few days. Fortunately, still under warranty by few months left, if not 15k to replace iirc. So, better check it up with Bermaz PJ to assure the real issue behind your situation. Best wishes

can share how you report the problem? i sent to glenmarie HQ & glenmarie body & paint service center a few times, yes a few times to check the issue still the same. can share which PJ bermaz are you going?

Not easy to deal with them. Plus, without proof very difficult to get them to address the issue.

One of the way is, make detailed recordings whenever the issue arises. Take picture, record video.

Of coz the best way is if you can replicate the issue with their technician by your side.

that's the thing! the problem somestimes happen sometimes dont! that's worry me ! it's like a silent killer sad.gif

i managed to record the noise here and sent to the SC already but still say normal, cannot test.

normal SCs would taichi you, only the Bermaz PJ team know what really needed to deal with. If you drop by and have it checked by them, their verdicts are pretty much the ultimate answer to your relentless worries
*
good to hear that. so i can actually make an appointment with them and apoint mr Kumar to handle my case? hmm.gif

hi, would like to check with you guys.

so recently i went to this car workshop to change AFT for my mazda 2. before that i asked the shop (via FB) how much does it cost and they quoted me rm35x4 which = 140 + free inspection

then i went to the car shop, before start i double confirm with the technician there how much for it, he said rm180 (wtf). then i showed him the message said i already pm your shop before and only cost 140, then he like "o..ok..can one".

then he start his job and i clearly clearly see he only take out 3x bottle of the ATF oil which is 3L for my car.

once everything done, i proceed for payment, he took out his inspection paper/invoice and there also written "ATF x3" then he immediately strike off the '3' and change to '4' and charge me the price of x4

so did i got scammed by this car workshop?

Sounds very fishy to me, when I change my M2 ATF, I bought 4 bottles and they used up 3.75 L, left only a quarter and returned to me. Cost me RM 30 at Jalan kuching.
Better to check the ATF dipstick, to ensure enough ATF being poured in & find another workshop next time
*
hi would you mind share the workshop you went?

Thanks.

This is the workshop I went, because it was nearby my work place.
Although I'm sure many other workshop are resonable as long you asked the price first and know basic car stuff.
