3k rpm for 130kmh.
110kmh around 2.5k (not so sure) but around that.
*
QUOTE(pizzy @ Apr 8 2015, 09:21 PM)
no wonder the 1st drop can last for 150-200km, thx for ur info
110km/h, speed 6, rpm below 3k
*
My current '06 Honda City (flywheel CVT) clocked 2.6k rpm @ 110km/h, while a friend's Vios (4 spd AT) clocked 2.8k(?) rpm @ 110km/h.

It seems that 1.5L engine cars are clocked more than 2.5k rpm @ 110km/h, so if Mazda 2 can beat my 14.8km/l full tank run, then I am looking forward to this Skyactiv technology. brows.gif

QUOTE(spoons-are-real @ Apr 8 2015, 09:43 PM)
The fuel consumption on this vehicle is absolutely amazing, I've been driving everyday for 5 days now and the fuel bar only went down by 1/3 of the first bar. 1/3 of the first bar for 5 days of driving (Subang to KL and back everyday)! I average 60km/h - 75km/h when I drive. Definitely one of the upsides of having this car.
*
Report upon you finish your full tank. rclxms.gif

QUOTE(electron @ Apr 8 2015, 10:42 PM)
14.8km/l for full city driving? The 2005/6 city can definitely do 18-19km/l on highway at legal speed limit and i don't mean just from the trip computer reading but from refuelling calculation
If go by the trip computer, i've seen 25km/l at constant 80km/h for a distance of about 5km till i run into traffic
Prius is known to clock 3l/100km at constant 80kmk/h and number around 4l/100km is common for daily city commute

Would really love to see the diesel M2 here. Wouldn't mind paying 95k for it if equipped with 6 airbags
*
14.8km/l for 30% city + 70% highway driving on one full tank.

QUOTE(ssyycc @ Apr 8 2015, 11:01 PM)
I think many non Mazda driver still don't know how the new m2 calculate the fc. The Mazda connect has an application can will show the average fc on everytime we start the engine till we stop. I could see the figure increase and decrease depends on traffic condition.
*
But do M2 have a overall fuel consumption calculator based on trip meter, the one you can reset? In '06 City, FC computer will calculate based on the total trip traveled after last reset. For the fuel consumption, I don't know where the computer get the figures from.

QUOTE(jkiwi @ Apr 8 2015, 11:05 PM)
My 1st tank can get 16.25km/L.
50%highway, 50%city+jam.
So far satisfy for FC
*
M2 i-Stop should give some savings in trafficlight conditions. I noticed in one of my test drive that more brake force is required to activate the i-Stop. Yet, very little brake force is required to brake during normal drive, I could just rest my feet on the brake pedal and it would gives a lot of braking power to the car. I wonder would anyone be unaware that because if the brake pedal is not pressed harder, the i-Stop won't function, hence, giving lower FC. Maybe they could have better FC in city if i-Stop is properly utilised.

About Mazda 2 Skyactiv-D

The Sun Daily GearUp

They show the Japan Spec

What they got:
-LED headlamp
-Cruise Control
-Probably i-activsense too

what they got less:
-Fabric Seat.

Will this spec come to Malaysia?
*
They are using this as a test mull to try out the Euro2 diesel I believe. Japanese spec M2 has rear drum brakes. But, M2 Skyactiv-D engines will have to wait until Euro5 diesel implementation, 2016/2018? Or inb4 delayed again. Mazda might have Skyactiv+ technology by then, who knows? brows.gif laugh.gif

QUOTE(little-sama @ Apr 8 2015, 11:24 PM)
I see many super satisfied with the fc

I'm not tht satisfied LarRrrr. My avg monitor show avg 4.6 max for highway drive Juz now from glenmarie to pj via federal. FC no doubt superb on highway.

But my mileage at 711km(current) -369km(refuel at 369) =342km

To rack up 342 km I've used up just 1 mini bar less from half the tank. Wonder how.much further I can go, the info stated 175km more to go though.

517km/44litre = 1litre for 11km
*
Maybe you haven't done your first service? As quoted below FYI.
QUOTE(ssyycc @ Apr 8 2015, 07:49 PM)
Just wanna share some amazing fc story here.
The fc did improved after the first service.
I used 1 litre of petrol for 23km just now. (4.3l/100km)
No jam and mostly on highway.

Sometimes the istop bad mood it wouldn't stop no matter how you brake or change To N. I would say it's kepala ada angin.
*
It might be because your aircon is switched to the lowest temperature setting? So i-Stop won't kick in because your cabin temperature is not achieved. As quoted below, a lot of reasons, steering wheel must be straight?

QUOTE(heroes1986 @ Apr 8 2015, 11:56 PM)
sometimes the MZD will display the reason why i-stop not kicking in.
on the FC page where they show a car body 1.
A lot reasons are affecting i-stop to kicks in such as ur tyre position, air-con, temperature to name a few.

But for my driving habit, cause I drive in very jam road, usually if short jam I will not switch to N. (Usually I switch to N will trigger i-stop immediately).
Instead of that, I press brake softly so that i-stop wont kicks in, worry if the car keep on start n stop engine gonna make the battery die faster(I not sure is it true or not).
*
QUOTE(little-sama @ Apr 9 2015, 12:44 AM)
It shows the reason meh? It's shows ready ready ready then I brake, push to N,  then not ready. I was like??? Pretty sure I drove quite a distance to charge the capasitor thingy
*
M2 don't have i-ELoop (the one using capacitors, CKD M3 also doesn't has it), only i-Stop, hence the electrical components of the car are sucking the juice away from the electronics. Don't worry, since the car is drawing the electricity from battery all the time. The engine alternator is there to recharge the battery when needed. i-Stop won't use battery to restart the engine, it uses fuel combustion to restart, don't know why it works in Skyactiv engines not on normal engines, ask the Mazda engineers who designed the Skyactiv engines. Hence the restart bit rougher than hybrid cars.

QUOTE(derrick557 @ Apr 9 2015, 12:54 AM)

Tis everning temp
It killer my car =.=

You live in which part of the desert in Malaysia? laugh.gif

QUOTE(GNR @ Apr 9 2015, 01:42 AM)
I've read in the manual that there's this brake assist thing that helps you with how much brake pressure you have to use. I'm not sure if it is available for Malaysian variant. As it sounds like a i active sense to me which is not part of our variant.

I've never had this brake issue. The only time when I don't get istop to work is during hot weather (my aircon is at full blast and put very low temp.) or my car is on a slope. Even small slopes will not allow me to go into istop mode. Other than that, everytime I expect it to work, it works. I'm so used to it that I don't have to look at my dashboard anymore to know if istop will kick in or not.
*
Brake assist is available in Malaysia variant, as well in a lot of other cars like Vios and City. We don't have the i-Active Sense package such as Active City Braking, where it will help you brake automatically if it sense you are going to collide in front at speeds 4 to 30km/h.

yeah and i forgot to mention they got turbocharge too. anyone know when the D engine will come to Malaysia? base on Autobuzz review it will come.
and i read some say mazda 2 will not have a CKD version. where they got that info?
*
QUOTE(t3chn0m4nc3r @ Apr 9 2015, 09:22 AM)
based on automania, skyactiv-D is expected to come in 2016.

Based on Bermaz history for Mazda 3, I think it's only a matter of time for CKD Mazda 2 with better spec. But rest assured it will be earliest end of 2016 or later.
*
Tentatively 2016, depends on when the Euro5 diesel will be implemented in Malaysia. If Euro5 delay, Skyactiv-D sure delay.

Mazda had invested a lot in Thailand for building M2 and got Thailand EEV incentive. Unless Mazda willing to build another line to cater for M2, M2 CKD is not going to happen.

M3 is different, there are no production outside Japan for right hand drive, hence, Malaysia gets it first due to Malaysia EEV incentives.

thinking our CBU is from thailand.. if got CKD pun will not really drop the price. i think.

Since ASEAN has free trade agreement, no point setting up another production line for M2 CKD. Toyota Vios also CBU Thailand too. The Mazda production plant in Thailand for M2 is new too.

QUOTE(t3chn0m4nc3r @ Apr 9 2015, 09:36 AM)
BTW. Reading the Autobuzz review, the Skyactiv D Mazda 2  has only 103HP but can produce 250NM or torque? blink.gif  blink.gif  hmm.gif
*
Diesel are high torque but low HP. Good at winning acceleration race but not very high topspeed. No doubt diesel FC is better compared to petrol variant, but the pollution NOx and black smoke generate under hard acceleration are its drawback.

QUOTE(murasame85 @ Apr 9 2015, 09:37 AM)
probably because of turbocharge? im not really know about the power thing actually. hahaha
*
QUOTE(t3chn0m4nc3r @ Apr 9 2015, 09:40 AM)
I not really that good but usually turbo charged cars should have more both horse power and torque and not gain 1 loose another. hmm.gif

Plus... the max torque at 1500-2500rpm... hmm.gif
*
Due to the variable geometry turbo, constant torque can be achieved at low rpm range, the one we normally drive in, city & highway. But not the racing rpm range. Hence, more FC.

QUOTE(murasame85 @ Apr 9 2015, 09:42 AM)
based on i read. the D 104hp is on 4k rpm. while the G 114hp on 6k rpm. does this mean D is more powerful?
*
No, diesel engines generally has lower rpm redline, but that torque is addictive, provided the engine is turbocharged, natural aspirated diesel engine on the other hand, has bad performance. It is like chocolate vs sh*t.

basically the diesel variant is more for naik bukit at 1500-2500rpm... laugh.gif  laugh.gif  laugh.gif
*
Yup, not really, but it can accelerate faster as in the rpm increment is faster.

QUOTE(Megatron123 @ Apr 9 2015, 12:37 PM)
Under current diesel quality yes it is is very polluting. But when Euro 5 diesel comes, diesel would be much cleaner, probably cleaner than petrol. I m looking forward to Euro 5. I don't mind paying a bit more for Euro 5.
*
Less polluting for sulphur content, but NOx and black smoke (incomplete burned fuel) is dependant on the diesel engine combustion chamber/piston head design. According to Mazda, the Skyactiv-D can lower these two polluting component.

Just looked through Yokohama's Tyre catalogue. Looks like they also don't produce 185-195/60R16. Only 185-195/55R16. Not sure Malaysia have it or not yet. hmm.gif

As I found earlier, the only 195/55R16 only available for high performance tyres. So if need to change tyre soon you can only opt for 185/55R16.

Michelin XM2 185/55R16 ~RM270
Continental CPC2 185/55R16 ~RM240
*
My SA told me the SC sell the tyre at about RM400-RM400-500, not sure can believe or not.

So far only the following have 185/60R16
1. Dunlop Enasave EC300+ (OEM Thailand M2)
2. Toyo Proxes R39 (OEM Japan/Europe M2)

Other alternatives I got so far:

Michelin Energy XM2 185/55R16 RM260-RM300
Michelin Primacy HP 195/55R16 RM1k+ (can forget about this 1)
Continental CPC2 185/55R16 RM260+/-
Continental CPC2 195/50R16 RM270 (The Yokohama shop near my house recommend this) hmm.gif
Apparently that shop don't have any R16 Yokohama tyres. hmm.gif
*
195/50R16 smaller by 4%
185/55R16 smaller by 2.8%
195/55R16 smaller by 1.2%

I think 205/55R16 is more similar to the current wheelsize. (0.6 % larger only), else it will affect our speedometer and mileage reading a lot.

Why not to worry if one get a tyre nailed at the sidewall and your alternative is to drive with 3 big and 1 small diameter (not the spare wheel) wheels?

I am thinking of cancelling too, if my SA really go back on her words, she chase me so fast for loan approval, now I chase her for car, now I can feel her trembling in fear cannot deliver the car. laugh.gif

For your case, if your loan is approved, but you haven't pay any downpayment right? Only booking fee. You can cancel without any problem. No harm to you, and you can get back your deposit, I believe, give them reason like you want a bigger car now because your family moved into your house for whatever funny reason you can give. Try go to Setia Alam Mazda, or Old Klang Road Mazda, they are desperate for sales, RM500 discount upon first enquiry and RM500 booking fee now.

If the loan is approved, it should take a few days to change the documents, rather than getting no discount and freebies and no car coming for 1 month.

just check the infrared, UV or TSER rejection rate in % and compare. Of course the higher the better while maintaining VLT 50% for side windows and 70% for windscreen.
It has the wow factor in exchange for (compare to Honda City full spec) space, # of airbags (not so important to me), cruise control, HDMI/mirrorlink (I want this very badly now) and resale value.

Just spoted Falken 912 195/55/R16 RM260... but not everyshop has this brand...
The size is perfect but not sure about the rubber...
*
If I am not mistaken, the Honda SA informed me, Honda Mirrorlink cannot be used when the car is moving. Like MB's DVD, it pauses when the car is moving. So it is pretty useless, unless you mod it.

QUOTE(t3chn0m4nc3r @ Apr 10 2015, 10:00 AM)
Don't so biased la. I also M2 owner ma. biggrin.gif

Tyre replacement option already out there just not exact same size as ori tyre. Honda City owners (those full spec or those upgraded to Honda OEM 16" RIM) also dowan use ori size.

No necessary all 4 la. 2 enough. Push Mazda no use cuz they don't produce tyres 1.
And if they import tyre by themselves, the price will nt be reasonable.
*
At least if really one tyre fails, can replace just one tyre @ RM400, rather than change the whole set at RM260 x 4 = RM1040.

I asked one SA at another dealer about Soul Red and she said Soul Red if need touch up is harder and more expensive (3 layers), advised me if I don't mind the Soul Red, then can go ahead (not sure is it because she want my sales because I asked about Soul Red and Aluminum Metallic.

If what she said is true about 3 layers, then most probably the production line for CKD is not catered for these complex paintjob, and also QC will be harder, rather have other colours than a horrible QC Soul Red, later not named Soul Red but Angry Red. laugh.gif

Last I asked from my friend, his supplier is bringing in Toyo Proxes R39 for 185/60R16, should be arriving in one or two months after this 1/4/2015 GST mess, since a lot of businesses are playing "wait n see" game before 1/4/2015. So at least, for those who like being original and don't like to mod car (like me), have this option. Good or average tyres, it is just a B-segment M2, not a RX-7. Drive from A and can arrive safely at B with some personal enjoyment in the car is enough for me.
