Hey guys, this is the other low price promotion from my SA, enjoy RM300 discount . Izit those spec not worth the price?
*
My SA branch suspended Raytech tint because of tint quality/workmanship issue, some customers complained tint issue which caused a line(?) on the front and rear windscreen (reflection maybe?) or something on the windscreen, customer claim warranty, Raytech only replace front windscreen for now but the line is still there. They decline to change the rear windscreen because they don't want to take responsibility for rear windscreen heater and say have to wait a year later to do so. So my SA branch suspended Raytech, only Llumar and VKool.

My opinion spending rm2-3k just for tinted is abit overkill. I rather spend less abit on tinted and the rest on coating. Well up to u guys if u guys r rich tongue.gif

My family tried coatings on other cars before. It still have dust teardrop effect from rain if didn't wash for 1 week, and there are stone chips and bug chips on the bonnet. Deep scratch is whats bothering me, not light ones since I could polish it / wax it away. Therefore I forego any sort of coatings for my M2. Besides, if you opt to respray your car every 5 years to get rid of deep scratch, that one layer of coating will need to sand away too. I prefer wax every 3-4 months and yearly polish.

Hence I could opt for more expensive tint.

Everyone can try coating for its experience, never try never know right? Maybe your driving/caring habits are different than mine.

Can you recommend a good place to do wax and polish and how much does it cost?? That is if you live in the Klang Valley.

Thanks!

I go with the nearest and convenient possible. Doesn't matter with coating.

If you want coating, there is one at Setia Alam. Chemguard M2 package RM1888, free maintenance, free return touch up every 6 month return for 3 years, can wash outside won't void warranty, if any accident and replace bumper or any panel, free recoat. All within 3 years.

Additional 4 airbags or cruise control.

Yes, as one of my family car is coated by them. There is a salesperson number I put up in earlier post a few days ago. Search for it to ask her.

sorry guys.
typo.
Actually is Coat Ceramic Pro
*
Another family car of mine coated Ceramic Pro, my brother was the one sending those cars for coating at both Ceramic Pro and Chemguard.

His feedback is Chemguard give better aftersales service (but weekends are members day and always full from opening until closing, better book in advance to do coating), he didn't mention about ceramic pro, and straight recommended me Chemguard. Not sure why no mention of Ceramic Pro.

One thing good about Chemguard over G'Zox is G'Zox need to wash at their place or void warranty, that is what I last heard a few years ago. Chemguard let you wash anywhere you like, they will do followup touchup service FOC every 6 months throughout 3 years.

Still, not going to coat my M2 since I use my old City from day 1 without coating and still shiny. I 1 month wash one time only, sometimes 1.5 months. laugh.gif

However, different people will have different 'sayang car' level. wub.gif laugh.gif

That is why I opt for Aluminum Metallic.

I think coating is because to prevent scratch right?
shinning is another purpose.
*
Yes, if the coating is reputable brand, it prevents scratches at the same time, the smooth surface is the one give the bling bling. But still if the scratch is deep enough, it will scratch the paint and base metal. So, nothing can be done to help it except repaint that particular spot. From my experience, if you are to keep the car more than a decade down the road, then coating is for you. If you want to sell it off after 5-9 years, coating won't help increase the value of the car when the car has stone chips all over and minor bumps. The 2nd hand dealer will say need to respray, bla bla bla... So save money going full original with no mods. If the 2nd hand dealer know his target customers (Malay generally like modded cars), he will add the mods himself after the deal.

Uhh..not sure if this question was asked before..but..is M2 Drive-by-Wire or Cable?
*
Most probably drive-by-wire as
1. Availability of cruise control
2. No mechanical cable near the throttle
3. The car know when to blip when downshifting in sports mode

QUOTE(ssyycc @ Apr 29 2015, 09:41 AM)
Now I started to imagine a battery fail scenario, M2 will not able to drive even if it's jump started by cable. The only way is to replace the battery. But our battery still very new lah.
*
What does the owner's manual says about the battery type? We don't have i-ELoop.

Guys. Getting my car soon. Anything in particular which I need to keep an eye on?
*
If you are getting Aluminum Metallic, check the rear bumper gap with the rear wheel fender, mine is about 2 to 3mm. sweat.gif

Maybe the production line for Aluminum Metallic are a sloppy bunch, the best finishing I seen is the white colour. Red not sure.

Meanwhile, after checking all the other cars in the showroom, there aren't any gap at all! The dealer SC said it is manufacturing tolerance and overtightening of the clip, but I filed a complain with the dealer to make a record, so if the clip breaks in the future, I am able to claim warranty for it. doh.gif

The car comes in not clean condition, a lot of wax(?) interior on the plastic, not shiny, exterior not washed well, waxed, nor polished. A lot of manufacturing leftovers marks, like cellophane tape gum mark, white residue (wax maybe?), etc. Anyone has recommendation for reputable auto detailing centre?

little-sama Got my car today, kindly add me to list: RicoT SDN Aluminum Metallic laugh.gif

Good quality phone holders doesn't come cheap. But if going for cheap ones, expect it to break and buy another one to try. So it will be a hit or miss if you opt for cheap option. Keep trying though. notworthy.gif

Ouch, new car with new gift.....
*
blink.gif My condolences to you...

Still in showroom? My car had some stonechips, a scratch on each side near the rear door handle, and uneven bumper-to-fender (according to the SC of the dealer, it is overtightening of the screw). Write it in the remarks section on the vehicle delivery sheet, and claim warranty from your dealer. For my case, I made a record with them so if my car has any rust from those stonechips, or the rear bumper clip breaks off, within this 3 years, I will argue with them it is from their delivery method, and manufacturing defects from the beginning.

I am surprised my dealer did not arrange my car to be shipped using trailer, instead they drove all the way from Kajang. Does your interior and exterior has a lot of powdery surface?
