a very strange incident just happened to my 2010 1.6SX Kia Forte.

start engine, air con cold. start moving, can feel air con getting hotter & hotter (eg. start with temperature 22°C, then slowly decrease until 19°C), still got cool air and not js fan blow air. then when stop for traffic light, can feel that the coldness drop. had to stop engine, start engine, then air con cold again.

went to workshop check, gas sufficient, fan running, tube no build up ice.

on the way back home from mechanic shop, frustrated and turn the temperature to hottest until 31°C and HI (I was thinking "let the air con spoil, then can replace whole unit. if not keep cold/no cold/cold/no cold very frustrating").

after a minute or 2, cannot stand the hot and adjust back to 22°C. since then, the air con has been behaving good, always cold whether car moving or stop at traffic light.

any of you face this problem before? izit because ice built up inside the pipe causing blockage, then the hot temperature got rid of the ice? still wana find a permanent long-term solution if possible.

oh ... erm ... thanks but sorry bcoz I have no idea what is a flapper motor . you have any idea where is the motor located (eg. need to dismantle dashboard?) and roughly the cost?

hi guys, wana do some sharing.

rear tires were having squeaking noise whenever I press the break paddle. brought to a mechanic, changed brake pads & also straightening/grinding the disc, with labor fee cost RM300.

oh, that's call "skim disc" ... hahaha, learn new stuff. why skim i'm not sure, but mileage 127,000KM, the first time skim (RM150) plus change brake pad (RM120) & labor charge (RM30).

going for 130,000KM service in a couple of weeks time. any owner know what are the parts change/service required? the service table is only up to 120,000KM & I no longer go to Kia SC. hope LYN forumers can share. thanks

my bad for the miscommunication. stopped going to SC after 50,000km. when I check on the maintenance schedule, it shows up to 120,000km. hence have no idea what to do for up coming 130,000km service

has any owner change the fan/fan motor at 150,000km? is this 1 of the item listed?

what happened was i brought my car (2010, 1.6SX) to a mechanic at 149,xxxKM. according to him, need to change the fan/fan motor at 150,000km. I didn't pay attention due to not enough money

today, when driving my car on Pg bridge, half way the fan stopped completely. air con no cool air coming in, but luckily temperature is below 50%.

any owner experience this issue? can share some insight? many thanks

good to know that. open the bonnet & let the engine run without air con - fan is stagnant. turn on air con - fan still stagnant. the air con will automatically increase the fan speed to highest level (as though Auto is turned on, but in fact it was not). only normal air come through, no cool air.

thanks for the sharing. by any chance you've replaced yours before? or by any chance you know the cost?

i'm not sure either. I think maybe the mechanic's advise was based on his experience. but now since the fan completely stagnant, I'll find out more later today.

at what mileage u had it changed? will be getting mine fix later in the afternoon.

just want to share that this indeed is due to fan motor (thanks to all sifu for sharing). changed for RM600 parts + labour.
