leakage of oil so need to refill it every 3-4 days. if oil leaked to below sufficient level the power steering pump will be damaged then will have 2 headache.

I already changed the pump once due to the oil leakage.

Hi all sifu I just checked with my frequent workshop that my car steering rack is damaged thus I will need to refill the steering pump fluid frequently.

I got quoted rm 500+ to change the steering rack.
is it reasonable? or you guys have any good workshop to recommend?
I live in Puchong btw.
*
500+ definitely not a new steering rack. A new rack will not cost that less. recond rack or fixing the rack?

Hi guys,

Need opinions on my 2010 Forte 1.6SX 120k mileage. Recently encoutered my aircon not cold and then engine overheating. Sent to foreman 3 times already to check and at first thought it was compressor oil not enough as aircon gas was still full. So filled compressor oil. Radiator fan as functioning as normal. Ok for 1 day, next day overheat again. Sent to foreman and then changed termostat. Ok for 2 days, then overheat again and smoke/mist coming out of aircon vents. 3rd time sent to foreman, this time changed radiator hose (1 was leaking) and also changed water pump. This time foreman said if still overheat, he don't know what to do already. doh.gif

True enough, after using for 2 days, the temperature shoot up again with smoke/mist coming out of aircon vents. I've checked radiator water level was normal, aircon still cold etc...start engine, the radiator fan still functioning.

I'm in a dilemma now as to what could be the problem. Hoping for some advice here. Thanks.

Does your forte comes with one radiator fan or two?

Mine, elantra have one fan, but it runs at two speeds.

Next time if it start to overheat, quickly open up your hood and check if the fans are turning.

Cos, from your description, it can last two days without overheating, meaning system able to cool the car, just that maybe the fan intermittently stop spinning.

Please becareful, if fan not spinning, do not go and touch the blades, it might spin and injure yourself..

Thanks bro... Forte comes with only 1 fan. Fan turns normally when testing at workshop. Whenever it overheats, my waifu was driving it. So not able to determine if fan stop or not. But i'm suspecting it's fan problem as that's the only thing left that was not changed for my overheating problem.

Gonna send to autosaver to have it checked out.

The colour differentiation serves as an easy marker/reminder to the driver on:

A) 30 km/h being the common speed-limit for Residential Roads.
B) 50 km/h being the common speed-limit for Urban/Town Roads.

The above is most prevalent in EU countries. Am not entirely sure if the same can be said of M'sia (and most Asian countries).

In any case, to achieve Economics of Scale, most gauge cluster manufacturers would use the same master design/colour across Vehicles that are marketed both in the EU and the Rest of the World (this should be true as you may notice that these colour schemes are absent from Proton, Perodua & Japanese models).
