What I meant by "new" ones are the unused ones. But can I know which Sony store you went to? Most of them stopped selling it because Vaio is not under Sony anymore.

Oh well, I guess I'll have to give up on finding Sony Vaio laptop.

But anyways, I need recommendations please.

1. Preferred brand - Any
2. Budget - Below RM 2k
3. Usage - Normal student usage, like some browsing lah...some gaming lah...some movies lah...some school stuffs (if have any)
4. Preferred laptop/screen size - 14-15"
Plus, I want a laptop with Intel Core i5, 4GB RAM, Nvidia or AMD graphic card, Windows 8.1, and a good battery life for a Windows laptop. Thanks. biggrin.gif

4: Screen size: 13-15 inch

I'm on a tight budget, can't afford a laptop with great specs. This will be my first laptop, so I want a laptop with at least Intel Core i3, 4GB RAM, Nvidia or AMD graphic card, good battery life, Windows 8.1. Thanks.

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind. But I just saw a review in LYN of the Lenovo U41, unfortunately the reviewer got the top of the line unit with Intel Core i7 but there mentioned that there's an Intel Core i3 variant as well? I got attracted by it, and the specs of the Intel Core i3 variant looks perfect for my need, so should I get it over the Asus X554LJ? Thanks.

This will be my first laptop so I'll have to choose carefully.

Arguments are not necessarily bad, especially if backed by solid facts. I'm always up for a good debate  tongue.gif
Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the Lenovo U41 feature an integrated GPU?

From your list of options, the Asus X55 seems your best bet IMHO

I have no idea, but I saw that both the Lenovo U41 and Asus X554LJ have the same Nvidia GT920M 2GB.

And yeah, the Asus X554LJ looks like the way to go because it has a better CPU, but since it runs DOS out of the box, I'm quite afraid that it will be over my budget if I add Windows into it. What should I do?

Hi, which is better?

Asus X554LJ or X550DP? The X554LJ has Intel Core i5 with Nvidia GT920M, but a seller in Lowyat Plaza recommended me the X550DP with AMD A8 with AMD Radeon Dual Graphics? Which should I go with for the long journey? The seller offered me similar price for both laptops with upgrade to 8GB RAM included.

The important things are, whether it can run GTA V with no issue and has good battery life or at least acceptable for a Windows laptop. Please help. Thanks.
