With your usage, i think you can go for a lower end model with entry level GPU cause you're mostly doing programming and browsing right?

Previously recommended MSI GE60 series because of the SteelSeries keyboard (and key mapping functions) and 4K output for external monitors.

You may want to consider that. Or another thing is to compare based on screen quality since you're Youtubing alot.

Out of all those brands, Lenovo Y50 has issues while MSI GE62 has Anti-Glare for better viewing angles. Illegear also got a colour calibration option where you pay a bit more for them to calibrate your screen colour by professionals.

Then refresh i suppose since you don't game. Then again the CPU might be lower in GHz.

Lenovo thinkpad is one of the best in terms of quality and dell one of the best after sale service. Since you dont game on laptops, dont worry much about the heat. But if it feels warmer after using for a long time then open up the laptop to clean the dust off. Also, try to increase the capacity of the RAM to at least 8Gb  .

Essentially the business grade laptop is good. Latitude, Thinkpad etc. Extra budget you can change HDD to SSD or increase RAM or get another monitor for your coding.

dont worry,  it does not overkill. but it would be wasted for the graphic card if its not being fully utilised..    it just like a powerful beast that keep in the cage...

SSD is just like a pendrive, it does not die easily and depends how u take care of them. cz it does not have any disk inside that easily damage like HDD.

i5 only dual core. Mostly i7 is quad core(some end with HQ, MQ, HM, etc.) except Ultra Low voltage (ULV) processor (i7-5500U) which have dual core. Among these series, ultra processor is suitable for moderate use but not much intense gaming cz it will bottleneck the cpu. since the ultra processor have 2 core, and 4 threads compare the other i7 have 4 core, 8 threads. too summarized..

SSD is the way to go.
and if you are worried about the lifespan, the lifespan endurance test just ended recently (http://techreport.com/review/27909/the-ssd-endurance-experiment-theyre-all-dead)
so don't worry, SSD do last freaking damn long

Yes and no about pen drive. The quality of pen drive and SSD is different as SSD will last longer. There have been a recent endurance test done. It will be more than sufficient provided you take good care of your laptop.

I might be wrong but if you are not gaming ir rendering stuff. Normal U processor is sufficient though compiling code might be longer. That said yes it is nothing wrong having a gaming laptop to do your work but you never know when you're gonna game again.

I think what evo mentions is you should rephrase your sentence/words. It is quite misleading for others. People will sub-consciously think it is bad.. because it is bad (in fact it is not bad)
At least explain why you said so with your experience so people can judge.
Most of the time people tend to say it is slow because the program open very slowly. So in this case, SSD is the way to go. If your work is not so intense like 3D rendering, video encoding, heavy VM etc. maybe a normal i5 or i7 U series is sufficient. Eg: Office work hardly will benefits from the multi cores of the processor.
SSD will significantly improves your read/write speed, so you should consider it. The lifespan is good enough to last you a few years. (Except you're going to read/write 100tb of file everyday then it may be a different story)
For GPU, since you're don't gaming, you may consider to omit this. But if you're doing design work, the CUDA core may be essential.
