Anyone know where i can get this???

It's a switching jack which switches to bypass when a cable is plugged in. Pretty common on guitar amplifiers.

I plan to add an effects loop to my AD50VT (something that it's reaaaally lacking) so that I can plug my Zoom G9.2tt straight into the valvereactor poweramp via the fx return. Also opens up the possibility to try the 4 cable method with the VOX. If you AD50VT/AD30VT guys are interested on how to DIY an effects loop into your valtronix amp, hope over to patchtronix for the instructions. I just need to find those dang switching jacks and I'm all set.

I went over to MIDI specialist in lowyat today to try my luck (since they have tons of jacks and other what-nots) but they didn't have these. Jalan Pasar's going to be a wild goose chase since I wouldn't know which shop to start with. I'm this close to ripping out the guts on my old crate amp to pull out those jacks. Know any DIY amp people around who may have this part?

Thanks.

that looks pretty similar to the jacks used for EMG active pickups.

Yeah I'm pretty sure they use them for active pickups... Even semi-acoustic guitarss with active preamps.

Not gonna buy an EMG pickup set just to get the jack though tongue.gif

No... not exactly... The ones I'm looking for are mono, not stereo.

Hang on lemme try to make it clearer,

Notice in this pic there's a switch which is in contact with the tip? The circuit is closed here:

Now if you look at this pic, where the jack is plugged in, it breaks the circuit and puts it into bypass.

Anyways I sent an email to ceriatone asking about 'em, since they specialize in DIY amps. The should have some... I hope...

I think you should take my post lightly lar... because I meant it as a joke. The thing is, I, nick_drake and sean392 went down to Jalan Pasar to look for stuff like these. If I'm not mistaken we were looking for the stereo ones but all of them only had the mono jacks. IIRC lar... We searched up and down and took several buses lol. laugh.gif

Hahaha... Nonono... I didn't take your post in offense in anyway. Mine was meant to be in a light-hearted way too. Oops...

But yeah, that's what I mean about going to jalan pasar. You'll end up spending so much time going from shop to shop explaining to all the aunties who may or may not know what the he11 you're talkin about. Just hoping I don't have to go down that road...

I see you're a valvetronix user. Keen on trying out this mod too? haha

oooh.. after seeing your picture, i notice the slight difference... alright. that, im not too sure where to get. cause it looks like a pretty 'unique' special one...if midi specialist doesnt have those...idk abt jalan pasar...it's pretty hectic to just go there for one jack.

OT: led zep, ur stuff still here! rclxub.gif you paid for it man.. anyways, no more pedal steam already man... sweat.gif

Nah... I thought you didn't realize it lol! laugh.gif

Yeah... I'm pretty interested but I'm pretty electronics-illiterate lol! It would be great to have a loop mod. thumbup.gif

I dunnolar, because atm I don't really need any pedal lol. Recently I prefer to use less effect and rely more on the guitar/amp tone. I might strip down my effects to a wah/overdrive/chorus(Or Rotary) setup

If you wanna use them for your other projects, you can lol... In fact the stomp switches that I bought were left redundant lol!
