And yeah, I've personally seen it happen. I killed a SanDisk once on the S3 and the replacement died on the N2 - after which I switched to a Transcend card, and even that one has been showing signs of dying before I switched to the N3. Now waiting for a 128GB Samsung Evo to be delivered to me - hopefully that one lasts a bit longer.

And this is coming from someone who's used to using one same card for years across multiple phones without it dying so easily.

Add up the fact that Sammy completely ditched the card on the S6 and you know something's up. Hence, I expect the N5 not to have a card slot either lol. They'll call it their new "design direction" or something, but really, there's just something wrong with how they implement SD card slots on their phones: they usually put it near one of the hottest place on the phone (near or next to the SIM area) with near zero way of venting that heat.

And heat kills memory cards - if not the slot along with it. Especially here in Malaysia when it's already hot to begin with.
