Flashing Rules.1. Do not flash stuff onto your phone if you are scared of bricking your device. Flashings done properly are 99.9% safe. However, make sure you can afford to lose your device... I'm what may be called a serial-flasher. Owned and repeatedly flashed 10 devices.. I've lost only one to a hard brick. Soft bricks? Yes, experienced multiple and always recovered.
2. Read, read, watch videos, etc.. Till you are familiar with the process and know exactly how to recover from a soft brick.. Perhaps, even a hard brick in certain cases.
3. When in doubt, always follow the instructions outlined by the ROM or kernel or tool dev/chef.
4. Keep backups on the phone and off the phone (preferably on an SD Card or a PC)... A full backup will almost always save you from that one or multiple times you manage to screw up a device. Can immediately revert to a "stable" state.
5. Don't let the above scare you. It definitely gets easier as you master the various processes and terminology.. So go ahead and unleash the beast within the Note 3 and experience it's true capabilities (as yet). YDOLO!
