Hi everyone, I am new here, brief introduction, I owned a entry level DSLR camera few years back during Uni time. So far I have only equip myself with a prime lens, kit lens and soon a UWA tokina lens. The reason and purpose of putting up this post is to seek photography lovers to meet up and organize a short trip to nice places and photoshoot (landscape photography). Ever since I have graduated, my camera was not really fully utilize. Reason being is no friends. Those days, I have 2-3 Uni mates so we actually managed to organiz short and near trip for photography session (e.g. Putrajaya). I really enjoy that. I am not a pro/expert. Just a casual photography lover. I tried Google and search for photography group, thought that I can join the crowd, but can't really find any (maybe there is but just that I cant find it).

I hope I will be able to find friends (especially those who is new in photography) through this post today and from there we will be able to organize trips /meet up for photography session.

Thanks for reading.

Hope to hear from you soon.

You can give this group a try:
http://www.meetup.com/KLPhotoClub/

Haven't tried them yet, but I might try one of their outings when I come back to KL.
They have an outing tomorrow already at Central Market.

personally, I prefer to go solo.. sometimes when there is a group with BIG GUNS running around.  Opportunity becomes scares and people will shy away or get annoyed.

I big public events. It make no difference as you are on your own with lots of others with the same interest around.  You just go do your thing.

If you are dealing with issues of comparing notes after the shoot to improve your composition and pick up some new technique then it is a different issue..

Will you be safer alone or in groups... it all depends on where you go and the type of subject you choose to shoot.. Normally I get away with it... most of them think I a some foreign person tongue.gif  from Japan or Korea and leave me alone .. some even try an help me out  blush.gif  and give tell me where to go for the best angle.

Smile is always the best as ask if not too sure..

Hmmm.....My prime objective of having this post is to find mates (in a group of 4-5 pax) to travel and explore different places (it could be somewhere out of town) and snap photos together - share our techniques, learn from each other and most importantly is to have fun together.

Never have the thought of being safer in a group or to go to Public Events and get shy away by big guns.

Cheers

Hey Casey and everyone. How you guys doing?

Maybe for this moment, 5 person of us is ok I think. No need a big group. Easy to travel, right?

It just my opinion. biggrin.gif

My suggestion is to set a date, time, venue, and theme for the shooting session, like how those car club members have their teh tarik session, gathering or convoy. smile.gif

You just need 3 people to make the session a success. Of course, the more the merrier.

What you've mentioned is absolutely correct but the problem is we do not get immediate response when we reply in forum. I have suggested earlier that they PM me their phone number so that we can create a group and discuss about the venue, time, date and theme. But no one turn out to PM me. I only have bro rafikaziz's number at the moment.
