Hi, just wish to know, anyone have done this before? Create a forum to earn money... I m thinking it might be a great way to do so if the traffic is very high, but I don't know how... hope to get any advise and direction from someone experienced in it...

Good idea but difficult to implement

Dont talk about earning money first, attracting high traffic to your forum isn't easy. Firstly you need to dedicated to your forum, posting things that people want to read and discuss, and then you need to have some die hard wonderful mods working for you mindlessly like those in LYN, and finally, you need to attract a bunch of die hard members.

So, no members no discussion, no discussion no members. It is sort of chicken and egg problem. So at the beginning you gotta be the chicken and egg first, unless you are creating a forum based on some famous topic that already has lots of die hard fans, eg. a game? a shopping center? A mountain? An cartoon animal?

And then how to earn marnie.... hua hua hua, why the admins and mods keeping quiet here? LYN a charity site? Share a bit la. In short it is all about advertisement, ads ads and more ads. But note, ads focused forum will likely frighten away your members.

use content management site like xoops, joomla, drupal for an easy way to create a site with forums. I use it to create mine.... but about the money & traffic stuff... you're on ur own.
