Had encounter problems paying booking.com with Paypal. Ended up using Maybank debit card oni.

The properties were in Philippines and Bali. I suppose they charge/received in PHP and IDR (not USD so I want unable use AMEX).

Another case study: used Paypal to pay booking.com for Turkey. All accepted coz all hotel owners there want to receive payment in EUR (instead of Turkish Lira).

Received SMS from Time Broadband:

RM0.00 TIME: We will discontinue AMEX card for Auto Debit payments from 15/07/2020 onwards. Pls update your card details at xxxx to continue using AD. TQ.

This sucks since I pay about 200+/month to then on Amex auto debit.

From last night, I continuously received failed message when trying to topup *Shopeepay with my AMEX. When switched to Maybank Visa then the topup worked in one try.

*yes fully aware I’m not getting any reward points or Shopee coins when topping up, I’m just using AMEX to justify to Maybank that I often “spend” enough to get the RM238 annual fee waiver which so far they keep granting me every year until COVID hits and my usage becomes low

I found a not straightfwd solution. Select pay by online banking. Select bank. Maybank2u website login page appears. Type in login and password. It’ll go to payment page. Can select “funding source”. In my case, one of the option to select has Amex in it.

Has anyone paid home reno package with AMEX? Like signature kitchen ker … do they take AMEX?
