Luckily the Guardian near my house in Seapark still accepts AmEx, just swiped it there on Tuesday.

Etiqa can do online renewal, get extra 10% on top of your current NCD.

Do you know the minimum for the card usage at the Guardian?

I think there's none. My recent transaction was below RM 50.
Swiped once in Guardian Nu Sentral for less than RM 30.

U can get 10% discount if renew car insurance without agent no limited to etiqa.
U can pay cash or any credit card to get the 10% discount if the insurance company accept.

But, of cos online is more convenient.

The question now is, are you sure you can use AMEX for other companies?
There are some setbacks using the online portal on this as the "market value" are higher compare to you go to office direct.
Also, after 15th of April, AMEX for renewing insurance are same as using other cards

I used to swipe my amex at the proton edar senawang, never had an issue before as they are using MBB terminal. just insist on them trying amex.

Getting 10% is 1 thing, getting extra TPs are another. That's where MBB's AMEX card shines, but till 15th only
