At least for Guardian in Sunway Velocity Mall, Cheras, the new Hong Leong Bank credit card terminals (with white colour) is able to accept payment via Amex Contactless (Amex ExpressPay), from American Express Credit Cards.


The transaction in that Guardian branch is eligible for 5% weekend cashback, for Maybank 2 Card American Express Credit Card.


The previous Hong Leong Bank credit card terminals (grey Verifone terminal) in that Guardian branch accepts only PIN-and-Pay transactions from American Express Credit Cards. Back then, there was no issue to swipe or wave Visa and MasterCard credit cards, on the previous Hong Leong Bank credit card terminals.


Just as cybpsych said, you are advised to try at other Guardian branches in your area.

Is it NSK Trade City Sdn Bhd (Peel Road), in Cheras?


Just go to the counter with white credit card terminal. This credit card terminal (from Public Bank) can accept Amex credit cards, via Amex ExpressPay (contactless transactions) and PIN.


Other counters have black credit card terminal. This credit card terminal (from Ambank) cannot accept Amex credit cards.
