did 1st dining swipe using m2card amex at Vivo American Pizza (MCC: 5812) @ Berjaya Times Square.

haven't call CS to check the MCC for this restaurant.

Starbucks (MCC: 5813) @ Sunway Pyramid (main entrance) under Dining cashback.

called cs to verify it. same as Vivo's transaction yesterday, also eligible for Dining cashback.


asked cs how would they know if particular transaction is eligible for 5% Dining cashback, they said it's tagged in the system.

I further asked how would we card users know, cs said our statement will show the tagging as well.

not sure how true is this, gotta wait for Aug statement to confirm.


*update 20150810: latest Aug bill. no "tagging" or whatsoever that describe the transaction is under Dining category.

called MBB CS again to verify the MCC for Starbucks. the outlet i swiped was under MCC 5813.

i guess should be fairly safe since Starbucks nowadays no longer under MCC 5812, but instead 5813.

i actually called 2 times: once after swipe at starbucks, another was just now (asking to change my bill date for ikhwan card, so what the heck, i might as well ask for the mcc).

yes, 5813 is under Dining based on the new 5% weekend cashback T&Cs

call CS, as usual.

that's the problem with their CS. most of them is untrained to check the MCC from their system.

yesterday night, i told the CS, they can actually checked it. but i lazy wanna argue, so didnt pursue. few minutes later, the same CS called me back, saying she found out how to check the MCC i thanked for her initiation to find out and called me back

p/s: my latest Aug bill statement, no such thing as "dining" tagging for my dining transctions that i did last weekend (starbucks/vivo). but confirmed MCC is eligible for 5% cashback anyway.

haha, not sure who's gonna keep calling MBB CS to check the MCC.

for my own peace of mind, i spend some time calling them, for every of my dining transactions. then i shared the MCC here

since mbb reduced the benefits to Dining and without any easy way for users to know which MCC it falls to, i'd just keep calling their CS every single time i swipe.

make noise to them so that they would improve their bill statements tagging (e.g. Dining tagging, similar to HLB Wise), or M2U Transaction details.

strange, i remember i swiped amex there last time there was a 3rd store at BTS Level 3, already closed liao.

you already know that, right?

doesnt matter what card, any mbb cardmembers can call that number anyway.
