QUOTE(user_nikon @ Mar 20 2015, 04:22 PM) Any suggestion for light weight Tripod and backpack for DSLR D7100 I wouldn't get any bag that screams "CAMERA BAG" especially in Malaysia where there's quite a bit of theft/assault/muggling. any good brand please let me know Also let me know good shop in KL from where genuine at reasonable price I can get So in the end I got a simple sling bag and use pouches to stow my lenses and the camera goes into the a small camera pouch. You can easily DIY as well by using sweater or t shirts as cushion if you don't have pouches. The last thing you would want is bad people targeting your bag. |

That time i bought around rm400++ but the model you found is ok too, just that it's not ball head. what i like about this brand is you can really fold up and fit into your backpack. I'm a girl ler and this is not heavy for me. or you can consider this one : http://www.gstrapinuse.com/index.php?main_...products_id=891 quite good too. My Sirui R-1004 tripod extends up to around 1.75m which is about the same height as me. Really useful in some situations |

And yeah, every person has their own way to photoshoot landscapes in certain heights and different angles. I can achieve different perspective even with this height so I guess skill is important too. I don't need a tripod taller than me. So it's up to each individual to get a tripod according to their budget and requirements. My Sirui R-1004 tripod extends up to around 1.75m which is about the same height as me. I use the Beike PRO 999 and does the job well.. It cope with 2kg 400mm lens with no issues.Weigh wise is fair game.. For the biggie task I will just lug my 15 kg tripod and there will be quivers from weigh whinnies.. The one on display is Q999 which is similar to my 222. I will say the Pro 475 will be close..
there are compromise you have to make.. other issue which will harp on is ease of cleaning fine silt and sand off the system.. a pain if you like sea side photo.. the 999 is total strip down ability. One last personal opinion.. dont go too cheap like the 222 i had that too and is sitting in the bottom drawer looking for a new owner.. Bag wise.. yes keep it brandless and that is good and prudent advice. Use padded bags that can fit your shopping bag or rug sack.. I do that and it fit into my ice cooler box too!! Unless you want to show and tell then different story.. This post has been edited by ChinWY: Apr 8 2015, 01:44 PM |

Yeah, i chose CF cos I was going to Japan for winter and CF doesn't conduct the heat away the hands as quickly as aluminium. Now i remember why I bought that tripod My Sirui R-1004 tripod extends up to around 1.75m which is about the same height as me. Really useful in some situations |
