I checked with my car workshop. Promottion price for size 215/45/17 is about RM400 per piece. Dirt cheap compare with my RE002. I bought RM 570 per piece for RE002 3 years ago.

OMG! It's so dirt cheap price that u managed to bought it buddy. I wonder how much does RE003 size 225-45-17 costs? I bought a set of 4pcs of RE002 225-45-17 for RM485 each early this year in January 2015.

Exactly. Was worried at first. But upon further inspection, I found no evidence indicating the tyres to be imitation/rosak/defects. Got myself a bargain then. rclxms.gif

got mine 16/45/205 at rm285 excluding gst.

before this, i'm using N9000. so i'll compare with N9000.

overall the grip is pretty nice for now (need to know what's the failing point as well, n9000 started to fail when thread left 35%. at 40%, n9000 is already failing at sandy road). didn't really let it run in, straight whack corners.

i can say the grip is there, the sidewall is slightly softer than N9000. more silent that N9000 as well.

on wet, recently i tested..so far so good.

Can you tell me what is the traction rating, and threadwear for this re003?..

I'm have order re003 from tyre shop in melaka and been qouted rm170 for size 195/50/R15..

The price exclude gst, and allingnment..good deal for me.but, somehow I kinda worried this

tyre will wear out fast..currently using conti cc5..plan to change to ps3..but ps3 no stock..

re003 is equivalent to ps3,,no regret on that part..

Sadly, there isn't any traction or tradewear ratings. But you can take the gauge from re002 safely because re003 are the improved version of re002.

Taken from Bridgestone Australia's FB : https://www.facebook.com/BridgestoneAU

"Hi Kuda, thanks for your post. The UTQGS ratings for the Potenza Adrenalin RE003 are: Treadwear - 220, Traction - A and Temperature - A. In comparison, the tread wear rating for the S001 is 280. Trust this answers your question:)"

when you have super durable tyre like ATR Sport thread wear rating at 400, don't expect good grip and personally tyre is best to change every 2 years. but if you are traveling slow and nearby area, you can use it up to 4 or 5 years.

320 is consider medium wear rate. for me, PS3 will start to fail once it reaches 65%-70% usage..again no idea on re003, will it able to last up to 80% or even more

First after been informed, about the price per piece for this re003..I feel like, wow.what a bargain..but, the threadwear of 220, seems like this tyre have a very short lifespan..currently using cc5 with 360 threadwear..use from 2011..haha..never regret order this model..safety is more important than money afterall...my tyres just arrived to tyre shop this afternoon..tomorrow will change it..cant sleep,so excited..first time using high performance tyres..haha..Im dunno will feel the difference or not on dry tarmac..but, on wet road..for sure will feel.

when you have super durable tyre like ATR Sport thread wear rating at 400, don't expect good grip and personally tyre is best to change every 2 years. but if you are traveling slow and nearby area, you can use it up to 4 or 5 years.

haha currently im using Atr sport, ran out in a year although threadwear is 400, genting too often hmm.gif

Seriously, cc5 to compare with re003? One is passenger and comfort tyre another one perfomance tyre,
Looks deep on spec tyre threadwear low good for griping and low noise

If your usage pattern involved sprinted driving and/or track usage, threadwear information is useless laugh.gif
What become important is how does the tyre hold up to heat cycle
Some tyre have big loss of grip after a few track session while some can retain most of it down to end of life
Look into extreme performance cateogry for such usage pattern
Some tyre which does not stand up to usage pattern like this will actually finishes off its thread and/or lose grip quickly, rendering threadwear information useless

Hahaha..that cc5 my father, the one who purchase it back then..now, he ask me to recommend the tyre for this 195/50 R15..for sure I will choose the most ultra high peformance tyre..but, I really worried in term of price, durability and performance because this re003 will be put on SAGA LMST..Hahaha..so funny, SAGA LMST wear Potenza..I feel like, what happen if use this RE003 and I does not feel difference with cc5..that is what I think b4 change into this RE003..

Ok, a bit initial review of Potenza Adrenalin RE003..
After change from CC5 into RE003.I really feel the tyre damn shiok.so sticky and make the ride a little bit higher..the tyre also very very very noisy..I can hear the tyres scream a little even at 50kmph speed..can u imagine if I speeding up to 200km using this tyres..just kidding, saga cant achieve that speed..haha.but, at highway speed for sure this tyre will be roaring compared to ordinary tyres..yesterday in Melaka, there is a heavy downpour and I try to push this car..To my surprise, the tyres is really good..I can still feel the grip, not like cc5 of course. So, this tyres is really recommended if u find high performance tyres..

May I know what UHP tyre that u use?..Yah, I do agree on the part of AA traction tyres is more better than A rating but different manufacture rate different

their tyre and unfortunately some of them have put inaccurate traction rating for their tyres..take example Bridgestone..Even their highest Potenza which is

Potenza S001 that cater for sports car are rate only A for traction..whereas Continental put AA traction for Continental Premium Contact 2..My brother use

this tyre on honda insight and mind you, this tyre is mile away backward compared to Re 003..the threadwear rating is also one thing..Some manufacturer

put a rate of 400 for AA traction tyre..that is totally bullshit..Genuine extreme performance tyre maximum treadwear must not exceed 300 else the tyre

cannot be called extreme performance..Extreme performance tyres is so sticky how come can wear for so long without lose thread..Btw, what Im telling is the

rate on tyre is not accurately describe the tyre..I have read the review on re003 and some said it is better than ps3 that have AA rating..it also comparable to

other ultra performance tyre..given the price, its is a steal deal actually..

Been driving around with RE003. Dry grip is better than RE002. Didn't really try it on the wet road but when driving over puddles RE002 is better.

Wet performance really good..cut through water like a piece of cake..dry performance does not feel that large different.maybe because my car does not have enough power to push it into the limit..I think better u call first, this tyre shop and ask for this re003..because, this tyre is really new..they does not keep it, in their warehouse.maybe u can said, got recommendation from Honda Insight MCC plate number when u calling them.not for my commission, I don't take any, but for your discount.try negotiate kaw2 with them.hahaha..

As for noise, it depends on car. If your car have a very good sound insulation, then the sound might not be too obvious..but, the noisy is there.really different compared to ordinary tyre.b4 this, using cc5, I cant hear any noise, because using sports exhaust. but after change into re003, I can hear the tyre rolling..so, imagine how noisy this tyre is. after-all, its depends on types of car.if ur car have good NVH, then should be no problems.

I got feedback from people that the grip level is similar to PS3 which isn't too bad considering it's even cheaper than the PS3!

Also, apparently sidewalls are way softer than the previous RE002 and RE001 so that's one thing to take note of. Might try these tires out once my AD08R finishes, just afraid I had been spoilt by hard sidewalls considering my last 3 sets of tires(AD08R, NS2R, R1R) all had stiff sidewalls laugh.gif

Keep them reviews coming guys!

By the way, please just share the name of the shops you guys got the tires here, no need susah susah PM sweat.gif

ideally, threads here should be strictly to tire discussion, and not turned into a business lowballing fest which most LYN merchants/tire shops (with accounts here, dupe or not) unfortunately abuse.

I think that's considered pretty expensive I think? Not sure if the price went up or dropped but last year when I bought my tire, the 195/55/15 were going for around RM350 give or take. I got my 205/50/15/ for RM395/pc though.

Bought this tyre from Sunway Tek Ming for RM350 per piece include GST. Tyre size is 205/50/R16. Their tyreman has taken good care of my newly bought rim from doing balancing until alignment. Happy with their professional workmanship.

Before this I’m using CPC2. This tyre didn’t give me the sticky feel when speeding above 100km/h and tyre noise is noticeable when cruising above 90km/h. I feel more confident with this new tyre as it gave better feedback on handling and feel sticky on road. More confident in cornering too brows.gif . The down side of this RE003 is the tyre noise. Tyre noise is noticeable when cruising above 60km/h. It definitely nosier than CPC2 sad.gif .

Here's my review after using RE003 for 5,000km. My ride is Merc C220 W203 CDi. I will be comparing this with PS3 (Been using PS3 for 8 years or so). Dry performance RE003 is the clear winner. Comfort level, PS3 a bit better than RE003. Noise, again PS3 a bit better. Wet performance, I can say it is on par with PS3, the same goes for it aquaplaning resistance. I never encountered any skidding problem or losing control when heavy downpour. In conclusion, if u do not mind losing a bit of comfort level for better performance, RE003 would be a great choice given their price. smile.gif

Thanks for sharing.. sounds good to me.. another downside of re003 i foresee it will wear down faster than ps3, but the cheaper price negates that.

Here my observation using RE003 (setup with both 4 wheels; the rear wheels is stretched moderately)

Dry grip is decent. Have no problem doing hard cornering (I'm using adjustable coilover btw) but with cost, which is tires wear. I have drive "hard" and "rough" and later check that rubber actually used especially at the side of the front tires.
As for wet, no aquaplaning. Again, its wet surface so I still drive with cautious.

Previously using Falken ZIEX 912 and Toyo T1R. From my point of view RE003 (Thai) quite similar with T1R (Japan) but both are superior than ZIEX 912 (Thai) which have slight aquaplaning. Can't comment much on T1R since I'm not using for quite a while.

And here the cons:
1. A little bit noise which I'm not really bother.
2. Tires wear (This I can say depending on your driving style. I believe it can go further mileage if you drive normally and not aggressive type).

Overall, its value for money.

I'm currently using Asymmetric 2 (235/40/R18) and planning to change to RE003. So I'm also interested in feedbacks from those who has made the switch.

So far with the Asymmetric 2, I've been very pleased with dry and wet performance.

I just changed to re003 205/55/16 and done about 500km. My opinion is it's quieter than my previous stock michelin mxv-8. Grip on dry and wet i feel very confident with the grip. Was driving at karak highway from raub to kl in wet condition. Do 110kmh at still feel the grip is there. I feel the sidewall is stiffer than mxv-8 coz mxv-8 really soft and i feel it gets softer n softer. Im not a performance driver thus im not into tackling corner and most of the time not much load on the car, rotate tires every 10k km, it lasts me till 65k km before i decided to change. But i do feel the tires stil have 5k km to go. Lol. Cost me 1350 at raub inclusive gst n alignment. They pay me 50 for my old tires. So end up cost me 1300.

Hai guys. I just bought re003, but made in indonesia and there is no any colored line on the surface of the tyre. Is it the same? Is there any diffrent made in? Cause saw they stated that they got diff made in (indonesia/thai/japan). Sorry for the noob question.

Hi guy.. after much consideration I've decided to try our this RE003.

Through my entire time of having my Saga BLM, I've never given it a proper set of tires sweat.gif
(kena simply chopped by foreman because have not self educated with donut knowledge)

From bridgestone website, it seems that RE003 only available from 15" and above rims. Do they have 14" as well?? The spec i'm looking for would be 195/55 or 50/14.

Im using the Thailand one.

Am not sure if there is different. Hopefully the quality is still the same among those 3 different places.
Based on ptan web, it is based on size for where it is made.
About the line color, I read it that its for manufacture to identify type of tyre size (http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tiretech/techpage.jsp?techid=173).

If you don't want to feel car is heavier or lost pickup, don't go for wider tyre and bigger rim.

got mine 16/45/205 at rm285 excluding gst.

before this, i'm using N9000. so i'll compare with N9000.

overall the grip is pretty nice for now (need to know what's the failing point as well, n9000 started to fail when thread left 35%. at 40%, n9000 is already failing at sandy road). didn't really let it run in, straight whack corners.

i can say the grip is there, the sidewall is slightly softer than N9000. more silent that N9000 as well.

on wet, recently i tested..so far so good.

RM285 is the lowest I've seen. Where did you get it from? Looking for this size too.

Just changed 4 pieces 205/55/16 @ RM290 with A/B/V
at OEM Tyres, Kota Kemuning

coming from Pirelli P7
so far dry run are nice... feels the better grip. waiting to see how it work in the wet.
also they are quiet than my expectation.. felt on par with p7 when its new. i thought it would be as noisy as my worn p7.

Just bought Re003 215/45/17 for RM340/pc, changed all 4..

Went to Jalan Sungai Tekali to test it, IMO, this road curves and corner is much more extreme than Ulu Yam, though its a bit short, drove like a madman

Tyre sticks like a glue on the road. Barely any understeer feeling, steering feels sharp and direct even when full throttle around the bends and ESC did not interfere even once unlike the previous tyre I was using.

For noise I think its around the same or maybe just a little louder than the previous Achilles 2233..

I'm currently using Asymmetric 2 (235/40/R18) and planning to change to RE003. So I'm also interested in feedbacks from those who has made the switch.

So far with the Asymmetric 2, I've been very pleased with dry and wet performance.

Not to mention that the RE003 is way way cheaper than the Asymm2, wanna hear what are the tradeoffs

How much is RE003 235/40 R18? Interested... last change Michelin PS3 @ RM740 each...

How is this compared to PS3? I changed my stock to PS3 not too long ago, but then reviews for RE003 is quite good.

No issue since Bridgestone already set manufacturing in Indonesia for a very long time already. Climate in Indonesia is also equally harsh if not worse than Thailand or Malaysia, so their tires are up to the same standards.

It's ok lah, PS3 is also an excellent choice, might still be better in the wet than the RE003. PS3 also should last longer coz it has higher tread wear rating of 320 vs only 220 from the RE003.

yes. change from Champiro BAX

- grip level (Dry) = the best in it's class thumbup.gif I think grippier than PS3! I still haven't driven through heavy rain yet, so cannot review on that
- noise level = same as BAX 2 nod.gif
- comfort = stiffer than PS3 but way more comfier than BAX 2. I feel like driving on a sponge after the tyre reached 400km. I though I wanna say the tyre is hard, but it surprises me with the comfort level when it reached 400km rclxms.gif
- this tyre won't scream at u no matter how hard you take the corners, it makes you feel very planted and safe
- when new, the tyre looks rounded, like those tyres on a ROTA. now after a month it looks like typical tyre design... sad.gif
- threadwear rating 220, lower than BAX at 320 and PS3 at 280
- rating at sidewall shown A rather than AA on PS3, but I think will stick to this, don't wanna change as PS3 is quite expensive tongue.gif
it's true what other online reviewers have said about this tyre, it's really the rival of PS3 drool.gif

this shop i went to had a great service, but nestum actually sell it at lower price. so better u go to nestum's shop for this smile.gif

Anyone changed to this coming from N8000?

N8000 has been serving me pretty well but keen to try this out given the many positive feedbacks, tho it costs slightly more.

Hi, RE003 tire much more grip than maxxis victra I pro in both rainy day and dry day. Noise level for RE 003 much more better than Maxxis. My Maxxis victra I pro lasted 2 years about 40000km mileage. Heard that RE003 can last more than that.

to me RE003 noise level is the same as Champiro BAX 2, and that was cheapo tyre some more..
shocking revelation if BAX 2 noise is quieter than Maxxis. Maxxis is american made, unlike GT Radial which is indonesian made

i've driven on a very heavy rain today, but mind you my speed is only 60-70kph as the road condition isn't good, i wouldn't want to ruin my tyre.
the grip is still there and no aquaplanning felt. it is similar as PS3

few days ago , wednesday if not mistaken, i called a bridgestone dealer ask for re003,
here are the conversation ;

Me : boss, sorry to disturb, how much per unit for RE 003 , 195/55
boss : around 185 ?

Me ( damn happy and surprise ): ohh serious ?? how much for 4 pcs and brake pad ?
boss : u come lah..i kasi u special price

Yesterday i go the shop and ask , guess wat , an old uncle came out say he duno o, cuz this shop belongs his son, den i go ask his son.

Me : boss , that day i call u say 185 per unit , and special price for 4pcs ?
boss : whr gt , no la , u tipu meh ?

Me : i wednesday call n u say 185 for RE003 ?
boss : no la, that one its ecopia ??

Me : then how much for RE003 ?
Boss : 255 per unit...

I straight jammed at there ..he say i heard wrong , the 185 its ecopia offer price..so i straight turn my back and just go out from the shop .

Lesson learnt , dun ever ever trust on so call boss words ..at the end, still wan offer me so high price ..

the dealer is known as CHONG MENG AUTO SERVICES.
just my opinion to this dealer : please dun lie to customer , if u admit ur misleading to me on the pricing, i am still ok.

Forcely changed to RE003 from Asy 2 today.

Tyre crack yesterday evening near Rawang RnR after hitting metal object on the highway.

Surprisingly not only me stopped at the RnR petronas to change the tyre, there are 2 other cars as well. Filed a report to claim from PLUS.

you will never be disappointed with that choice bro.. i rate RE003 higher than PS3 now. just happen to me tonight, driving in a heavy rain, in a dark lit road, not noticing a large and deep puddle of water up front. hit it at 100-110kmh on RE003, not once my steering shake and move away on its own, my ESC not light up which shows the computer still thinks my car is in controllable condition, no aquaplanning, the water just burst away hard, my car moves as straight as my steering direction.

i never felt like this in all my life on all tyres I've tried before. this is great stuff!

PS3 or RE003?
looking at size 205/55/16, quoted RM350 for RE003 and RM380 for PS3(both before GST).
Mainly city drive and occasionally long distance travel.

looking at size 205/55/16, quoted RM350 for RE003 and RM380 for PS3(both before GST).
Mainly city drive and occasionally long distance travel.
*
RE003 price alrdy up?

Bought mine 205/45/r16 on 25 August @ RM310

2 weeks after that, my friend purchased 205/50/r16 @ RM290.

How is the feedback so far on this? Been looking for 215/40/17 and 235/40/17 but kinda difficult, if no choice then probably think about RE003 with 215/45/17 and 235/45/17, any shop offering the best price for both sizes? thx

Just changed mine to RE003 yesterday got it from OS autocare for 300/pcs 205 45 17 profile.

So far happy with it and first impression was softer and seems a bit noisier compared to my old tyre Achillies. Will drive more soon to get more drive experience.

Seems like no one reached 20k mark yet. I was quoted 230 for 195/55/15. Will change to this tomolo mated to enkei tuning sc09. Currently using toyo neo3 185 on stock myvi rim.

I think it's with gst and prolly made in thai 003. Bought the rims from Kean Lee Hean@nestum so you judge for yourself the originality. There's hardly any copy in the market unlike te37, vossen plus it's an old model. It's not that expensive if compared to rp01.

1.2k atm. Plus TPI nuts that cost quite a bomb. If it's indon then price should be cheaper even the shop owner indicate the price can nego a bit. Cant really bother with price, people also wanna cari makan. Last time I asked Bridgestone shop also got no stock. Im in Kelantan btw so maybe it's more expensive than other place. In Kuala terengganu got rm189 very cheap but the distance travel is like 300km return I might forget im driving with new tires then end up with hairy moments. Too much to believe and also it claim thai made.

And they're in. Nu shusses. Got these from Syafiq Tyre, Panji, Kelantan. Paid 780 after trade in my 60% Toyo Neo3 with stock rims for just rm120. Gonna miss those stock rims because it has served me well for 7 years. Now they head for scrap yard.

just replaced 4 pcs of RE003 205/55/16 @ RM350/pc
it is indeed quieter than my previous Falken ZIEX 912 when driving on rough road, no idea about grip yet as i've not push the tyres hard.

hi sifu here. i want to change my vios 2012 g spec tyre, currently is bridgestone stock tyre 185/60r15. if i want to upgrade to 205 but remain using stock rim possible? or 195 is the max i can go?

if 195 which tyre size is recommend?
if 205 then is which ?

i am from klang. any best deal around. prefer bridgestone over Michelin as i found out previously using michelin on my previous car it wont last long. i like good pick up, good handling, 70% drive in town. fuel consumption not main issue for me since most of the driving inside town. sometimes will only use federal highway but distance is only around klang to PJ.

will re003 or size 205 overkill for me ? i pick wider car tyre as i think handling might be better?

Rim:
Enkei Tuning SC09 15x6.5

Tyre: 195/55/15, made in indonesia

Previous tyre:
Toyo Neo3 (185/60/14); oem size: Falken Ziex 322 (1 set), Silverstone Powerblitz (2 sets), Perodua OEM Goodyear (1 set), Goodyear NCT5 (1 set).

I'm no expert in car or driving finesse guru, just experience gained from 8 years thru Malaysian road, mainly in Kelantan . So take it with a mountain of salts.

After like 400km, the grip on dry is amazing. Corners I used to take at 90kmh with previous tyres already screeching but with 003, no screech and no sagging prolly due to harder suspension and new abs mounting. In the wet, straight and corners very confirming but when it hit water patches there's a scare a bit where the steering wobbled a bit. I suggest do not take the shallow water patch lightly as it may introduce aquaplanning to a certain degree, stay below 100kmh. Although Ive hit 120kmh easy with this tyres in wet but feedbacks from streering when running thru crossing water or like 1cm deep ones were hairy, heart bursting moments.

Braking was firm but due to the setup weight, wider track it introduce more pressure on the steering so no one handed hard braking or risk the car veering. Have no chance to do slalom or hard braking in wet due to traffic.

It's raining season here in Kelantan so there's more opportunities to test the wet condition. Initial test wasn't very impressive but then again for a budget performance tyre I say go for it. One shop selling RM170 made in indon a dot, while stock last. Check Syafiq tyre in FB.

Peace

Yep, there's always the probability especially when the road is mixed with oils or any slippery stuff so have to make sure there's enough room to escape. Meh, only at sepang can do things like this. Slalom at 40kmh just waste of time.

So aquaplaning is not so good afterall? No wonder this tayar is cheap..

Still cannot challenge 'potong air' tayars like PS3, Asy2..

Too wide and too heavy wheel. Plus myvi is a very light car and it was felt when i was alone driving. There's lots of factor so that's why I put my car model there and the mod. Different car or even the same car with different weight and setup behaves differently. Well i haven't had the chance to try ps3 mich or any expensive tyres as Im not that rich enough. Hehe.

not sure if it's the stickier surface or the softer sidewall, i'm feeling more bodyroll when i'm driving @ 60-80kmh (dry) on ramps up and down highway with RE003 compared to my old Falken ZE912..

probably a combination of both factors...

i am using re003 since launch in malaysia till now. clocked around 10k+ km
very good grip during dry condition. decent grip in wet but aquaplanning is there i think due to the design..
i didnt feel any "sampan" feel of the soft side wall la... i usually put slight under pressure (205kpa / 200kpa depending where i going) for my 195/50/15 on myvi

3000km too, wondering why also. really rough that occur only on the outer site of the tyres.

Usually only on highways. 20% city drive..

So far so good with my RE003. Haven't had much opportunity to push the rubbers yet. Car has some prevailing issues, so need to sort that out first. But, overall quite happy with the grip in both wet and dry so far.

Does RE003 come in 235/40/18? I know they have 235/45/18, but will rub on my car without rolling the fenders.

acid427 ahh, thanks for that. Anyone ever come across this size in any shop? The few I checked with didn't have that size. Eventually settled for 225/40/18 which was stock tyre size.

Could've sworn I saw 235/45/18 but I was clearly mistaken! Thank you!

I got my 225/40/18 RE003 from Hin Tyre in Sri Sentosa (they only have FB it seems, and I can't open the link - try Googling them). I remember they had it in that size too, last I was there. Having said that, I've been told (by Bridgestone) there is a shortage of RE003s in Klang Valley.

Yes, it's been since the last 2-3 mths coz last time I was also looking for mine size 225/50/17 and almost no one has it except 1 seller who claimed she had it but charged rather expensive too!

Probably price already increase. It's normal that newly released tire will be introduced at an attractive price first, then they'd increase after seeing positive market response which is the case for the RE003. Then also comes this drastic drop of the MYR value and no surprise when price will go up.

Yup, that's the main downside of the RE003, tread wear only 220 which is rather low. If you drive a lot then better opt for something with 300-340 tread wear like the PS3, F1-D5, or V12 Evo 2 if got your size.

It's quite stiff. I can only compare this tyre with Michelin Super Sport and sadly, it's stiffer than PSS.

It's quite stiff. I can only compare this tyre with Michelin Super Sport and sadly, it's stiffer than PSS.
Compared to PSS - noisier and less grip on wet. In the dry both are almost the same.
*
all in all it still maintain the performance with some slight differences but offers a much more cheaper price - performance ratio.

Sad to say, this tyre is not lasting... I had this on my ride for less than 10K Km, the thread left 40%. Note that I am only using my ride for daily use, not track use.

Try other brands I would say.

Well the tread wear rating is on the low side at 220 so durability would not be as good.
How is your driving style, aggressive or just normal? If other tires normally last how many km in your hands?

Most of the time - normal. I am driving a ride on everything that's stock. My other donots I had used when it was stock was the Conti CSC5 with ContiSeal lasted around 50K KM.

Another 2 donots were Michelin Pilot Super Sport - already done 15K KM (used longer than the RE003), still looks like it has 60%.

Hi.
Newbie here...
Changing my original axia rims and silverstone M3
Planning to slap in advanti storm s4
Which u think is best
195/55/r15 or 195/50
Then for road noise, read it can be quite bad, can anyone give and further explanation of the level of "bad"

For threadwear.. My M3 30k km left around 20% already.
I travel on highway at 120-140km/h everyday, bout 70km a day.
Take corners daily also.
So would u recommend me getting the re003? How long do u guys estimate it will last with my driving style? Im okay if it can last 30-40k.

Wanted to get ps3, but the price tag of ree03 so attractive. Heee

Thanks all sifu

Why cannot? Just follow normal rotation procedure.

Doesn't matter how u rotate, left and right pattern wont be same at 'thunder pattern' biggrin.gif

hmm... 55 / 50 is ok but... sure wont kena the fender?

and re003 wet isn't that good compared to ps3. but dry is excellent.

regarding the noise, the road noise is there all the time once you reach 50kmh. imagine my radio need to up till 35 vol during highway at 120 kmh

55 will kena fender if on stock springs. my springs are no longer on stocks.

wah
haha
cause my M3 that im using now is pure bad..... so if the Re003 worst in terms off road noise, i might consider getting something normal then haha... something that has a decent performance/ balanced with low level road noise. comfort not so much my concern

maybe go for a Cdrive or nanoenergy.. laugh.gif

Ya, it seems your driving style is still normal and should have not worn out the tires as much as that even with a 220 tread wear. Maybe you observe incorrectly, should measure how many mm left. If just 40% left then only about 3mm tread left in the middle.

one thing I noticed is that good grip to road = noisy tyre.

less rolling resistance = quite tyre like xm2

I just changed all my 4 pcs to RE003 from XM2 on my FD. Instant gratification in short after initial 120km drive. Stiffer sidewalls, much better dry grip, noise is alright at higher speeds (above 100km/hr) but at low speeds around 50-60km/hr there's a slight whur. It takes some getting used to. I'm happy. Hopefully, it won't get that much noisier towards its end of life.

Tyre can premature worn out if didn't properly aligned. Or unsuitable tyre for the car, what car is it?

Then again you didn't see the tyre is it really almost worn out, just based on someone else remark.

15 inches and below in size normally from Indonesia and 15 inches above normally from Thailand. Since Thailand is out of stock now, all RE003 will be from Indonesia. Went to my workshop and spotted 'Made in Indonesia' printed on a 225/45/17 RE003.

Just burnt 4k on my Goodyear AS2, but then comes someone who recommended me RE003.

Got big difference ah? Performance and price wise.

nope, not even run flats. My tyres are quite wide, so per piece was like RM980.

245/40/R18

Michelin PSS was even more expensive @ RM1.2k a piece sweat.gif

Yeap, it is expensive, i looked around many shops, cheapest was RM915, even than it was a 2014 stock. 2015 stock is always >970 (including GST).

I'd prefer Asy compared to 003.

But im using 003 right now bcoz this is my temporary tyre before asy 3.

Upon changing my set, asy 3 still not released.

Or PS4.

Quite a few shops are no longer stocking AS2, they're waiting for AS3. Wanted AS3, went to many shops but none have it in stock yet, had to change my tyres ASAP as they were in pretty bad shape. sweat.gif

These tires are good for its price.

Comparable to michelin ps3 and hankook evo ventusevo 2. Re003 has lesser mileage in my opinion

It will be stated made in Indonesia or Thailand.
Anyway Indonesian made tires is just as good for the same brand so just focused on the brand and not so much on the country of origins. FYI driving environment in Indonesia is a lot more harsh than in Malaysia so if anything their tire durability actually should be better for the same brand. So Bridegestone or Goodyear made in Indonesia are still the same standard as BS & GY in Thailand, Japan, Europe, or other countries. Having said that, real original Indonesia brand tires (like Achilles, Accellera, etc2.) might not be as good as those well known international brands.

Was quoted rm1500 for 225/45/17 in Rawang yesterday but didn't take it. Chose Yokohama Advan v701 instead. This morning highway drive on wet surface I was doing 160km/h no problem. Can see water spray at the rear like F1 car on wet tyres..lol.

yeah, only from 16 inches onwards. haven't tried them yet.

friends using RE003 said it is not grippy in the wet.

When it's new it's good, after I've used it for about 2 years, it starts to become slippery on wet and quite noisy.

Still using it till now, probably can last another 2 years or so.

I am still thinking whether is my car wheel bearing got problem that is causing the ngon ngon sound, seems like this tyre is really that noisy . The sound like someone described earlier, 40-50km/h starthold humming, around 90km/h getting loud again and so.
Mine only use for few months at <5k mileage, think I start to regret of choosing this tyre, feel a bit cheated by most of the good review read earlier sad.gif

was using ps3 then re003 when it launched. ps3 much softer, quiet, cornering ps3 still better, probably i was using small size(195/55/15). the only advantage re003 i feel are during wet & price.

I was previously using Conti MC5 and recently switched over to RE003.

Driving experience was much better with the RE003 but sad to say, fuel consumption also went up with it.

To be fair to the RE003, it was due to the alignment being off.

How does the Nitto compares with the RE003?

Get Fleva, about RM220 each for that size, thread rating higher than RE003. Aiya, LYN got few famous sellers, depending where is your location nia. End of the day, you get wat you pay right? Give me a pair of 4D number, I go buy jackpot then I can buy AD08R innocent.gif

How you feel rainy its better? Track better? I do agree with you, RE003 isn't bad in the rain but it could be better (PS3 trumps RE003 in aquaplane resistance and tracking on corners.)

Nitto, not familiar with their tires.

erm, roughly e.g. subang exit form ss19 to federal highway. erm nitto about 100-110, max 120 can go in and out, re003 about 90-100 km/h before slight skidding happen. if rain minus 10km/h each. that's how i test kua since i go in and out there quite often.

Ah ok. Will look for Fleva reviews. Also is it normal that I had to fill in pressure for my RE until 34 psi instead on recommended 30 psi for my car cause I feel like the tyre is too soft when im cornering.

Think I need to revise my comment. The humming noise is from my bad wheel bearing, after replacing it my car is silence a lot now. In fact, can't hear much road noise even though cruising 100km/h at highway biggrin.gif

Was trying to find the EU tyre labeling for RE003 but was surprised to find that only the european counterparts don't have the RE003 in their listing...

Not really. The fleva has softer sidewalls. Grip on dry more or less the same. Wet in spirited driving is yet to be tested but tires does not aquaplane easily and water wading seems to be good to me so far.

what I liked about 003 is the better handling and i'm sure it performs better in the wet. The only downside is the treadwear.

wet poor for 003.

100kmph, puddle of water. can feel the car wobbles great but still in straight line.

701 yet to try.

003 mine, already 30k km. still ok. bvut max is 40k km

Honestly speaking I never had any issues with wet in my car even on 80kmph decent corners in wet rainy days on RE003, maybe it is a 102 hp vehicle. 100km/h on a puddle is considered fast but I agree to aquaplane is not bad, it wades well but I felt PS3 is better. RE003 lasted me exactly 31k km with a probably another 5k to last ( I do change my tires earlier)

We all differ by our vehicle geometry setup. Would like to know your input on wet for 701 wet performance, please .

Must be driving a small car and very slow & smooth style, and maybe regularly doing tire rotation too.

How small also the rim will be 15 inch rite.

I don't think kancil will go that extend.

Falken Azenis FK510 reviews look good. PS3 is an old one already especially with the ps4 out. But depends on your budget and rim size. Most of my tires seem to last around the 35k range. Plenty of high-speed corners and heavy braking. At times last less due to my ignorance of not doing the alignment on time.

yes im driving a small suv, at decent speed and i do tyre rotation everytime i service my car (12k~14k km).

I dont know the tyre still OK or not but on my next change i would like to try PS4.

Im pushing it until my last tyre lifetime which was 75k km.

Hmm yeah still looks pretty good, then driving style must be quite slow and very smooth, very normal driving I'd say and the tire rotation certainly helps a lot too.
Note though your outer side wears out a bit more than the inner side so I suspect your alignment is a bit too much toe-in.

Yes toe-in because my rear tyre already fixed position cant adjust. So, have to adjust only front tyres.

Hope its evenly wear out by rotating the tyres.

Oh yea, my daily PSI is 33~34.

Manufacturer recommend 29-32 PSI.

That's still fine. Often it's better to use a bit higher tire pressure.
